Bah towers

Towers are down in my area. JUST my area, lucky me. They have evidently been down since last night. Ok, so towers temporarily aren't working. I can deal with that. Obviously no one else can. I understand cell phones are some people's only form of communication, but everyone knows TECHNOLOGY IS NOT PERFECT! I am very gracious to the customers who are very understanding. However, why do customers threaten to cancel and go somewhere else? Do they not think it could happen to another company as well?! Puh-lease. I am so ready to go home. Oh, and maybe eat. I've had maybe a total of 5 minutes to myself since I've gotten here this morning. Ugh.

For Android.

I want to be able to listen to FM and AM stations. Not looking for Pandora, already have that.

Priorities, You Lack Them

To you who raised my talk time to new levels just because I would not remove your delinquent status in order for you to purchase your EPIC: If you really have the money to dish out $349.99 (plus taxes and fees) for a brand new phone, you should have the money to pay your $200something past due balance.

Needs before wants, I believe the saying goes...

i dont care if you have any sort of disease

or cancer, or diabetes, or how long you were in the hospital for. you have no sympathy from me and i will treat you just like any other customer. if you cannot handle that then find someone who isnt dying to help you continue to use your cellphone for the rest of your miserable life.

What is wrong with people?

So we're switching people in 18 states from Alltel, Unicel, and a small part of Verizon, to AT&T, taking over their towers, and offering to send them a free replacement phone, comparable to what they now have, so they can continue to function when we switch the towers. You'd think people would be grateful as hell that we're sending them a free phone, especially the people with smartphones, who get the Blackberry Bold 9300, the HTC Aria, and the Palm Pre Plus to choose from, but I've heard SO MUCH beaching about that damn bberry. 🙄

This woman just had a 5 minute hissy with me because the bberry we're offering her doesn't have a flash on the camera, and her current bberry does. 5 MINUTES of beaching that the phone is not comparabl...

Many, many hearts sent from the honorary ginger who transferred a rather rightfully furious customer in your direction.

Serves you right for telling her she's a Premier customer and -all- of her lines get the activation fees/upgrade fees waived; not to mention telling her, "Yeah, customer care will take care of it for you, just give them a call."

Don't tell customers things that will get them pissy in the long run just to make your sale; it'll come back to bite you when you least expect it!

Or maybe chop your feet off? I had a guy today setting up for service with obvious fraud. He said his last licence he was 6 feet 3 inches tall and on his new one he was 5 feet 7 inches tall. Meanwhile this lady in the background is coaching him on what to say to pass verification questions. How do these people think they can get away with it?

cust: oh, yes!

me: let me verify this for you...

me: thank you for waiting, I was cheking the user guide and your phone cannot record video only pictures

cust: WHAT?! but at the store they told me it had camera!

me: well yes it does have camera but cannot record video...

cust: then why did they lied to me!

me: what did you ask?

cust: if my phone has camera...

me: it does have camera! it just can't record video, did you ask if it was capable to record video?

cust: no, but they said it has camera....

OMG I still have this customer on the line!

"I just wanted to report a crime!"

Just got a call from a customer who's irritated because he wants to report a car that has no liscence plate to the police. Unfortunately, he doesn't know their number, but believes it's rediculous to have to dial 411 and pay the fee to get the number.

He also refuses to use a phonebook in our 'great modern age'.

Customer decided that he's going to report Sprint to the police for obstruction of justice, because we want to charge him to 'solve a crime'.

Fortunately for Sprint, he doesn't know the number to call to report crimes, and refuses to use their service to find it. I guess we dodged that bullet!

Sprint store #1062. LEARN YOUR DAMN RETURN POLICY.

why would you tell a customer a restocking fee would apply when the phone wasn't activated? how hard is it to learn the return policy? You are part of the problem on why people say Sprint's customer service is complete crap because agents are too stupid to know anything about their job.

Thank You, order Support!

Whoever neatly notated the acct with the model #'s, ESN #'s, and PTN's which belonged to each of the three return kits they were sending out is an ANGEL! Thank you, thank you, thank you. I have never had to do less research for that amount of information and if I had had to hunt down that info with the customer's screaming children in the background, I would've blown out my brains in my cubicle.

Mistake or Malevolence?

So I had a customer/friend come in who I needed to call into Customer Care for. We backdated a rateplan change and removed a feature. Pretty routine stuff.

Two days later, his phone was deactivated. He called in and 611 told him that his line had been cancelled by his request. They fixed his line and waived all the fees that had piled up from cancelling/reactivating service. So that's cool.

When he came in yesterday to tell me what happened, I checked the account notes and there was a weird note saying "his fiancee" had called in and proclaimed him dead. (He's not dead, nor engaged 🙂) I say weird, because it didn't have all the same tags and info that the notes I normally see have. It was brief, and featured no call in number.

Dear Customer

I am not Harry Potter and can magically make your account the way "You want" it. I am a guy behind a counter in a retail store. There are janitors at corporate that have more sway then I do. Why do you come in and make statements like " This phone YOU sent me" and " YOUR Service is terrible" and "Why are YOU charging me for this?"

Sir/Ma'am did I make that phone...No. Did I show up in a UPS uniform and deliver it to to your house?...No. Did I build the tower in your neighborhood?...No. Does that charge for Data on your bill go right into my pocket?...No.

I am here to help you in any way that I can but don't expect me to help you at all when you make it personal.
