Free phone & no contract?!?! (kinda long)

So this lady just called the store expld that she is an AT & T Go Phone customer on a 39.99 plan. Wants to know why she has to switch to Cingular Go Phone plan, why we don't offer the same plan as AT & T, why she can't keep her same phone (that she paid a whopping $50 for 2 years ago, which I think is pretty cheap, considering it's a prepaid phone). And even though we are offering AT & T go phone customers a free phone after rebate since they have to migrate by 9/30/06, she wants a free phone instantly, no rebate. C'mon lady, you're getting a better deal than some customers who are signing 2 year contracts....I even expld she could get the phone unlocked, but she'd be better off just taking the free phone. I work in a call center in portland oregon for vzw.

Guy calls in "Why is my bill so high with the surcharges?"

turns out he hasn't been paying his bill on time... ever, we suspended his service and charged the reconnection fee once he finally made a payment.

Not only that, but he's done it at least five seperate times in the entire times he's been with us... My god, you ****in moron, go away and leave me alone with my ps...

WTF

why why why. I know this happens all the time. but why do customers always threaten they will pay a cancellation fee and go with someone else when they find out they aren't eligible to upgrade? customer has only been active since jan 06 and went with the free phone instead of getting the phone they wanted (what was recommended) and now wants a razr. sir that will be full price. well I might as well cancel my two lines and go back to nextel. yeah... you could do that sir but do I really need to remind you of the reasons why you ported out to begin with. as well as the cancellation fees you will have and the equip price for new phones with nextel again since you threw away the old ones do u actually think that's a smart thing to do? wtf is w...

Happy Sunday

another happy sunday here at the yellow and black store very boring. i hate sundays because i'm usually all alone till 1p.m whcih kinda freaks me out. what if i got robbed and killed and stuffed in the backroom nobnody would know till 1 p.m. at least the cameras would catch my final minutes on film. plus im a little tired had a long night of drinking last night. i'l be fine though thank god for laptops that play dvd's and phonescoop without either my days would suck

so you have a prepaid customer with a pda such as the 8125. does this not bother anyone? i think it's nuts!!! and of course they just think they are the biggest pimps ever to walk the earth b/c they have a pda. great, you have a pda on prepaid service. woo. hoo.

Anyone get the guy who gives you his life story before asking the question he came to ask?

"I bought this phone around three months ago, I guess it was three months ago, it could have been four, but the battery stopped working right. Now it charges half way but when I make one call it stops. Like this morning I called my friend John and by the time I got off the phone it was down to one bar. So I called the company who made the phone and they sent me another battery, but it's still doing the same thing. They told me they could repair it but I have to send it back to them and I'll be out of a phone for three weeks. So they told me to come here and see if you have a loaner phone."

Customer: I don't know. That special. It was a while ago. Because I was thinking of getting a phone for my daughter. Are you still running that special?

Me: We aren't running any current promotions, but I'm not sure what special you're referring to because we run special promotions frequently. What deal were we offering?

Son of a...

I just had a guy come in who had ordered a phone from the internet. He asked how to activate it. I told him most internet phones come with instructions to call a phone number for activation. He said he had that stuff and wanted to know if that's the best way to do the activation.

I told him yes.

Then I had a guy come in who was probably a mystery shopper. While dealing with these two bozos, a pair of actual customers left because they'd had to wait too long.

Gosh damn it.

I Want My Money Back!!!!!!

So a usual annoying customer comes by my kiosk who happened to just fall into a little money. We get into chatting a little bit (actually hes chatting I'm just doing the smile and nod technique) and he says sell me something 😈 . So I sell him a basic jabra hands free. (the one with the wire not the bluetooth). I even discount it $5.00. I show him how to use it tell him their are no refunds on accessories and we part ways.
The same man comes back with the bag in his hand furious saying he wants to return the jabra.

Me: I'm sorry sir but their are no refunds on this product.

him: Let me speak to the manager!!

me: I'm sorry sir but he isn't in, if you would like ill tell you the next time he'll be in.

What the h_ll?

A month ago I had my first and only really rude customer yell at me for not being able to transfer her contact list to her new phone. It resulted in her lying to the manager of store, etc. The fact she complained wasn't the issue just that I switched ESN's as a favor. Just a minute ago who walks up, but her. She'll having rebate issues. I've been talking to her for two days not realizing she was "Mrs. I need all my contact list transferred now because I'm in the middle of a divorce" lady. Now I feel like delaying the process. She didn't even buy the phone from here so my helping is, once again, a favor. 👿

I'm sorry! I just needed somewhere to vent, and I can't blog on MySpace at work anymore.

Ever worked with some complete lazy people? We may have lost a sale due to the lack of brains and laziness of one of my coworkers. Customer came in looking to purchase a phone...that I had quoted him a price on. When he came in my other sales rep told him that the price he wanted, we just couldn't do. Our prices on phones vary depending on what you are doing..New/Up/Single Line/Family Share Primary/Family Share Secondary/how much money your plan is monthly/1 or 2 yr contract. The price I quoted him was correct based on his upgrade criteria and plan he was on. Instead of pulling up his account to see what plan he is on (which we do on every cust...

Prepaid Phone Blockage

I work at an authorized agent store for the big orange cell phone company based in Atlanta. As with most of you, I'd guess, I get a lot of customers with lost/broken phones that are a month into at two year contract, and I give them a couple of options:

1. Buy a new phone at retail price
2. Use an old phone until you're closer to the end of your contract
3. Buy a phone online, etc.
4. Go to Wal-Mart and drop $30 on a prepaid phone and slip in your SIM card.

Naturally, no one wants to pay retail or use an old phone, so I get a lot of folks using option #4.

Until yesterday.
