What Market?

Anyone from the Minneapolis market? If so, what store and company? Yep, its that slow today and this is the only site I have thats not blocked!!!

I'm probably jinxing myself...

but it sure is awesome to sell $190 in accessories within an hour of starting your shift. And miraculously, no idiots yet, aside from a scary toothless lady grilling me on stores that sell jeans. I pointed down the line of Aeropostale, Gap, Maurices, American Eagle, etc but apparently she doesn't mean those stores, but a store specializing in jeans (whatever the f that means...we don't have a Levi's store if that's what she's after). After going back and forth with her for a few minutes, I remembered that I'm not freaking mall customer service and directed her to that booth for further questions.

my customer service idea.

I am tired of arguing with people... when i tell someone something they don't like (they can't upgrade until june, i don't have a charger for that phone, i don't sell phones at retail price, you can't add a line because you aren't an authorized full access blah blah) they always argue with me! I told you the answer but since you don't like it you're going to waste my time and the time of the people waiting...
my idea to deal with people who try to argue with me when it's clear that i can't do what they 'need' me to do is to cry. As soon as someone starts to yell or tells me i'm wrong i'll just start to cry and then they'll get awkward and walk away. I can cry on command. I don't like to cry and i don't cry very much but if it will make ...

I just got b!tched out by a lady...

...who got upset that I don't carry a european charger for her Samsung c417!
...But thats not the best part!

C - (throws arms in disgust) "What do you mean you don't carry a european charger! I got one when I bought my razr!"

M - "What store did you buy it from?"

C - "Some store in London"

M - ๐Ÿ˜ฒ ๐Ÿ˜ณ "Umm, have you tried radio shack? They may have adapters..."

C - (cuts me off and starts to yell) "AN ADAPTER?!? I WANT THE ORIGINAL EUROPEAN CHARGER! I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY YOU DON'T CARRY IT IN THIS STORE!

M - (at this point I wish I had a pull down map of the world) I'm sorry for the inconvenience, ma'am, but we don't have a european charger. The reason why you got a eropean charger with you razr is because you got it in...

To all you blue collar folk..

Now, I understand that you are the back bone the keeps our society functioning, but please, if you work a job that has you getting mud on your feet or paint. Please clean up before you come into my store. The last thing I want to do is spend 30 minutes vacuming after every customer!

Question for call center/help desk personnel.

I work in a retail location. I will have to call. I will have the customer standing there listening to me and attempting to listen to what you're saying. They will be retards.

What would you prefer we do when we call you?

We need some kind of code for these situations.

My best WTF customer of the day.

Customer walks in and starts off the conversation with "cingular better do something right for me if they want to keep my service!" I love it when they start this way. He then explains that whenever he calls his brothers phone it takes him to a voicemail service asking him to enter his number to retrieve his voice mail.

After half an hour of explaining possible causes he decides to leave and tell his brother to get a new sim. What i found rediculous is that he was threatening to cancle his service if his brothers account wasn't fixed to suit his needs!

I'm sorry comcast i'm going to have to cancle, my brothers cable is down and i can't watch tv while i'm there.

how to phrase rebate prices

how do you phrase prices with rebates? what do you think is the most clear...

for example:
"$50 with a $50 mail in rebate so it's free after rebate"
"free after a $50 mail in rebate"
"$100 today with a $50 mail in rebate"

it seems that no matter how i say it the people need further clarification.
what works for you?

I work for a vzw agent in a mall. we sell some pdas but not a whole, whole lot. I never have more than 2 Qs or one Blackberry in stock...

Every Q we've sold in the past month has been exchanged as defective... I no longer feel ethically able to try and sell it to someone... I'm also tired of going through the daunting exchange process...

I am not any kind of Q expert (I'm a blackberry girl)... has anyone else seen a lot of defective Qs?

(as a side note i should mention one was exchanged the next day because the plastic battery door didn't press tightly enough on the back "my friend's is more secure", according to the customer, and it was easier to exchange than argue)

i just don't.

the kiosk at which i work does not sell phones at retail value. it's tiny, we only have 3-8 of each phone- that's pretty much all i have room for, so we only sell them with new activations and upgrades. Is that really so hard to understand?? the whole holiday season has just been people asking to buy phones at retail price (i don't even have the pricing for retail)- when i tell them that we don't sell them that way they give me the third degree, they want to know why, or tell me that their friend bought one here for retail, or protest in some other way. "So you're not going to sell it to me????" I don't sell them at retail price so if you're not signing a new contract or upgrading you cannot get a phone from me... everyone wants to argue...

I love noting accounts

customer complained of dropping calls. claims to be on his third CU500 and 2nd SIM card with this device. also claims his old motorola phone never gave him problems. This defies all of my experience with motorola products and this device in particular. advised warranty exchange for different model if he's gone through three handsets.

It's hard to try and say what you 'mean' to say without putting your @ss in a sling.

Ok, I just want to get some opinions on this. Yesterday I had one of the crazier customers I have ever experienced.

M= ME C= psycho customer

m= Hello, welcome to (insert provider here), what brought you in today?

c= I need a charger for my phone.

m= ๐Ÿ™‚ Ok, great, I can help you with that.

We get the chargers, sit down, ring everything out.

m= That will be $54.67 Will that be cash, check, or credit?

C= I don't have any money.
