This Takes The Cake

I can not believe this woman, I mean like I just keep shaking my head.

She activated a new line with an air card. She has Windows Vista so the Air Card doesn't work (because Vista = Satan) so she was going to cancel the line and send it back.

She didn't send it back. She sent it to... get this... the recycling center.

Apparently when we send out upgrades (I've upgraded and never gotten this, we usually say just keep the old phone in case.) we have started sending out what she described as 'little grey bags' with return shipping paid so that people can send in phones that they don't need to be recycled (it's a good idea actually, since a lot of the stuff, batteries in particular, are toxic) Well she apparently put the Air Card that...

Do customers just simply not care about identity theft?

Seriously, do these people just not give a rats ass?

I just had a customer come in, probably mid 30's. She wanted to add a line to her corporate account. She wanted a buy one get one free on an a870.

Me: Ok, well I have two 870's that I can give you the buy one get one free on, that would be after a $50 mail in rebate.

Custy: Ok, sounds great.

Me: So we'll be adding two lines, all I need are one of the phone numbers on the account, and the last four of the tax ID number.

Custy: XXX-XXX-XXXX and XXXX, but I only want to add one line.

Me: (baffled by stupidity), Ok, well, in order to get the buy one get one, we'd have to activate both phones...

Custy: Hrm, well, I only need one line, but my phone is kind of old, Can I ...

i know we say this a lot but..

i cant stand when someone walks straight up to me, and (speaking as fast as they can) says "do you have any free phones?" im indirect...so i tell them my phone is free with a contract and after a mail in rebate...i always get.."i dont want a contract" or "ok how much is a contract?" only to find out, they dont even have a checking account, let alone good credit...

Oh My God!

Everything I said, every single thing, she responded with "Oh My God!"

"How much is the you know bluetooth wireless things?"

"They start at $40 and go up from there."

"Oh my God!" . . .

"How much is the... how far can you go away from you phone and still be able to answer it? Like how far away can you be and still talk on it? Is it like in feet?"

"The maximum range is about 30 feet."

"Oh My God!"

Apparently she though they were alike 500-600 foot range and like $20.

shin kicking

people who have pictures of themselves making out with their boyfriend/girlfriend as the wallpaper on their phone should be kicked in the shins.

If it weren't for my horse...

Lewis Black has a great routine which features the phrase "If it weren't for my horse, I wouldn't have spent that year in college." Which he refers to as "The dumbest thing I have ever heard in my life... until Dan Quayle was elected the vice president of the United States."

I have finally heard the dumbest thing I think I will ever hear in MY life and that's saying a lot.

Remember that I work in a sales call center and am cross trained in the Telesales, Accessories, and Administrative departments. I've heard everything, or I thought I had.

But this particular piece of absolute idiocy came from my upper management types and totally blew me out of the water. My first response when I saw the e-mail was What the hell are you smok ...

unless you're with AT&T and just oh so excited...

feel free to join my rant about the elusive iPhone!

Bottom line...
T-Mobile Dash 199.99 with a new line on a 12 month, 30 Gig iPod 249.99, so a total of 450, beats getting an 8 gig phone that's completely dependent on a touch screen, rumored to have no removable battery or SIM, and does anyone else have an iPod, I do. A nano at least and like everyone else I know with an iPod of any sort I've had 2 or more because of needing replacement for various reasons. No one who buys Apple products in March gets nearly as upset as the people who buy them when they launch before the holidays and Apple (like every company, nothing against them) launches their products before their really ready. It's going to be 6 months before those things are really...

Why is it that people that break their phone, have "million dollar" numbers, and DON'T have them saved somewhere other than their phone? ๐Ÿคจ

I swear that customers like this don't deserve to have a phone.

I found the worlds biggest moron (or liar)

No Problem, I get her number, and as I am verifying her ID, she tell me that it must be her teenager. So I figure its text messaging, and am planning on adding an unlimited packages

No such luck, it's all 411 calls, almost $100 worth, so I explain it to the customer!!

Her response?

THATS IMPOSSIBLE, MY DAUGHTER DOENS'T KNOW HOW TO DO THAT!!!

My prayer for Amp'd Mobile...

I pray to God every night before I head off to bed that Amp'd Mobile is violently torn apart and dissolved like a school of sharks on a wounded fish amongst their creditors seeing how they owe $100 million in debt to which the greatest chunk, $33 million, is owed to Verizon Wireless on which Amp'd Mobile relies upon for their 1x-EV-DO voice and data services. Talk about biting the hand that feeds you. I also hope Verizon Wireless will leave the 170k Amp'd Mobile customers in the dark by terminating their wireless access ASAP seeing that of that 170k customer base, approximately half of them are deadbeat customers defaulting on their 18 month contracts. While we're at it, who's up to deporting Peter Adderton, the Amp'd Mobile CEO back to the ...
