No you may not.

I just had a customer ask if she can call me Jamie... Uh no because thats not even close to my name. I know my name is hard to pronounce but if it makes them comfortable I also accept a shortened version which i will provide at their request...or sir/ma'am...whichever works best for them.

It says it will work from any phone!

This woman is an absolute idiot.

So she bought a pre-paid refill card(for a T-Mobile phone.) She read off the card that it does say that it is non-refundable. (She admits this to me.) She's also insisting that it says "You can use this from any phone." She could not grasp the fact that "From any phone." and "on any phone" are very different concepts. She's mad because she spent $25 on a card for T-Mobile service that won't work to pay her landline phone bill.

"My husband is an attorney" she says like I care. "I'm going to give this to him and he's going to jump on this and I will take you go court over this."

"Well ma'am you'll do what you feel like you need to do but we are not able to give you a refund on a card that says v...

Im getting irritated...

When i ask a question I try not to use technical jargon. I dont want to make the customer feel any more stupid than they already do. I hate it when I ask any of these questions and get these responses:

I say: What type of device are you using?
I get: Huh? what kind of phone?

I say: Whats your wireless number please?
I get: My cell phone number?

I say: How often do you power off the phone?
I get: Huh? Do what? Shut it off? You mean shut it off right?

I'm sure theres more but thats top of my list right now...

And you are mad at ME?

Customer asks me what the price of replacing his phone would be. I tell him the retail price because he's not eligible. He interrupts me to ask me again the price. I tell him, and he interrupts me to say then that he will just buy it at the dicounted $10 price. I say no, sir, he is not eligible for that price and cannot get that price, only the $160.

Then his dad walks up to ask me if he can cancel his line and the son yells at him that they are leaving. As they walk out he tells his dad how much of a b*tch I am that I wouldn't let him get that phone, and that I didn't need to keep saying the same thing.

umm...you ovbiously didn't get it the first time I said it...duh? Ugh. White trash. 😕

How much is that?

I hate it when people come up to my kiosk and point to a phone, How much is this one? First, of all, I dont know if they already have service and want to buy it outright, or want to sign a new contract or prepaid or upgrade or what. Secondly THE PRICES ARE LISTED RIGHT THERE NEXT TO IT!!

Probably 9 out of 10 custys do this to me and it drives me nuts!

Just...wow.

So today I get a customer who comes in to change ESNs. She hands me the phone she wants activated, and I start the process.

C: Do you have a restroom?

M: I'm sorry, we don't have a public restroom.

C: *sigh* Ok.

She looks outside, then starts fidgeting in her purse. I continue the ESN change.

C: Is this gonna take much longer? I really need to drop the kids off at the pool.

😳 😳 😳

I told her it would only be a few more minutes while I did the test call and such. Much to my relief, a minute later, in walks a few kids with swimming attire on asking their mother to hurry up because they were going to be late for swimming lessons.

Whew.

have you ever recomended a competitor?

I know we could probably get in trouble for this, but have you ever had a customer come in that is out of contract asking about when you will get coverage in a certain area, and knowing that it probably won't happen for a long time, recomended a competitor that you know offers the coverage they need?(was that a run on setence or what!) I just told a customer that had 4 lines to go with someone else 👀

How much do you hate your credit department?

I work for Verizon, so I'm not sure if it's different working for Sprint, AT&T or T-Mobile. But from my experience, Verizon's credit department reps are all huge douchebags.

They always sound like they're talking down to you, no matter what you ask them. I'm pretty sure the authority gets to their heads. They all sound like they're talking to you from Mt. Olympus or something.

An example. A customer is applying for a new line. I run the credit, and it comes up "pending review." So I wait a few seconds, refresh. Nothing. I refresh for about ten minutes. Still no decision. I sell an accessory or two to other customers and return in five minutes to check again. Still no decision. All in all, over twenty minutes goes by without a credit d...

Sorry to the AT&T PYP CS Rep who had my customer

There was this customer here complaining that the phone doesn't work. I explain to her that she has a prepaid plan and the auto payment didn't go through. She got mad saying we never had a problem before, and couldn't comperhend that she just didn't pay. We talk to a cs rep who said the same thing. The part that bother me is that she refuse to check her credit card bill to see if it had been charged, and blaming customer service skills for not caring her. So, sorry that you had to talk to her if you are out there in Phone Scoop World.

C: I hate Cingular, my phone broke and I don't know why

M: Let me take a look at it for you

C: You better fix it!

M: Maam did you get this phone wet

C: No of course not!

M: How did this happen then? (pointing to my desk full of brown water)

C: That was there when I came in!

M: No maam it was not. I just opened your device and it spilled out. How did you get it wet?

How many lame excuses...

can one custy come up with. I have mathematical and scientifically come up with an answer, its 3,548,859....and a half.

So I'm sitting in my kiosk, so hung over I am seriously contemplating leaving my kiosk as any given moment to go throw up in the bathroom when I hear the most annoying voice ever "Excuse me" The lady sounded like the illegitimate child of Fran Dreser (sp?) and Gilbert Gottfried (sp?). "This doesn't work in me car" she hand me a car charger she bought 2 1/2 months ago. I tell her that I can do a warranty exchange but not a return. She proceeds to tell me the following:

"Thats ridiculous it never worked to start with" (That because you need to be a rocket scientist to work a CLA didn't you know"

So I solved this pr...

there's an age minimum for a reason

i just had some kid tell me he wanted to start service. he looked young but i was trying to give him the benefit of the doubt. here's how it went:

M: alright, i just need to see your state id to run a credit check.

C: what's that?

M: a driver's license, state id card, military card, etc

C: oh, i don't have one of those

M: do you have a social security number?

C: what's what?

M: how old are you?

C: 13

M: oh, i'm sorry. you can only start service if you are 18 or older

C: there's no signs that say that in here!

M: (laughing) it's state law that I cannot run a credit check on you unless you are at least 18

C: (yelling) man f*ck this place! (he then stormed out and knocked half of our accessories off of our wa...

NJ Teen Unlocks IPhone From AT&T Network

NEW YORK (AP) -- A 17-year-old hacker has broken the lock that ties Apple's iPhone to AT&T's wireless network, freeing the most hyped cell phone ever for use on the networks of other carriers, including overseas ones.

George Hotz of Glen Rock, N.J., confirmed Friday that he had unlocked an iPhone and was using it on T-Mobile's network, the only major U.S. carrier apart from AT&T that is compatible with the iPhone's cellular technology. In a video posted to his blog, he holds an iPhone that displays "T-Mobile" as the carrier.

While the possibility of switching from AT&T to T-Mobile...
