Apparently I'm rude?

Preface: I work for Verizon Wireless.

A customer walks up. They ask me, "Do you know where the T Mobile store is in this mall?"

I say, "Where did you go to school?"

Customer says, "What does that have to do with where the store is?"

I say, "It doesn't. It has to do with your level of literacy."

Customer gives me blank look.

I state, "The sign (I point towards sign) says Verizon Wireless, does it not?"

Customer still gives me blank look.

I restate, "Does this sign say Sprint?"

Still looking blank at me.

I say, "Does my nametag say, "Hi, my name is Shane, I work for Verizon, but I'd love you help you with your Sprint phone?"

Still looking blank at me.

"If you're interested in switching phone companies, or yo...

~~~ UBP ~~~
you guys that are freaking out about UBP are overreacting a bit ... yes the transfer from p2k and premiere is a little shaky, but its a piece of cake ... our center received ubp and the training over 10 months ago and it only took about a week maybe 2 for everyone to get the hang out it ... im serious, you guys will look back at your old posts about ubp and laugh in a few weeks ... calm down take a deep breath, using ubp only means more money for sprint which is more money for us ... they just gave us a center wide raise making the starting wage $10 an hour and $9 an hour for training, which is really good for sitting on your butt talking on the phone all day ... we've got it pretty easy for the most part, just hang in there with UBP i promi...
Can't I add myself to the account?
No you stupid bitch you cannot fu(king add yourself to the account when your name isn't on it in the first place! 👿
If you can't make any changes to the account in the first place then what the hell makes you think you can add yourself and then by some form of spectacular wireless world magic make changes to the account. This is why I have very little faith left in humanity.
stoopid
I am an indirect store manager of verizon. So I go to work and notice someone has been sitting in the parking lot since I got here. once I open, he comes in and says he's with _______ company. His phone is broken and he is looking to do an upgrade.
I say, "OK since we don't have you on file here, I am going to need the last 4 of your tax ID, and will need the whole thing here in a minute to make any changes to your account."
He says " Oh, my boss called in last night and said you could just do it real quick"
I say "She didn't call into our store and I would need the tax ID anyways to even look at your account."
He says "My boss gave me the password. Is that good enough?"
I say "Well, we'll need that but i still need the tax ID...
Customers are oh so smart compared to a tech right? NOT!
So I have to say being a tech for a cell phone company is something funny. I really do wish I could say to a customer what I thought. For instance I had a lady come in with her phone today she has a green chocolate phone aka 8500G(older model) for those who know the model numbers. This lady goes to me something is wrong with my phone
Me okay what’s going on with the phone, what’s not working?
Customer: it won’t charge (customer now shows me where she is putting the charger)
Me: that’s not the charging port that would be the memory card port
Customer: no you’re wrong I have been charging it there for the past year
(Okay now I’m ready to just tell her she’s is ****ing wrong and deal, are you ****ing st...
Kinda Long
So there's this old guy that owns a Tmobile Kiosk right in front of our store. He's an older guy, looks a bit past 60. He's a nightmare, he takes the carrier rival thing too serious. If I was caught looking at their phones, he would say something like "Checking out what Sprint doesn't have". He's so rude, everyone in my store cannot stand this guy. We're located right by his kiosk but people still find themselves asking him where the Sprint storte is, an elderly couple asked where the Sprint store was and he sent them the opposite direction instead of pointing behind his kiosk to our store.
Today my co-worker had a customer that wanted the Curve and was porting from Tmobile. Not thinking, my coworker sent his customers over to the kiosk t...
ever lose a sale b/c you knew too much?
customer wants to buy a battery b/c he doesn't want to be locked into contract with Big Red. Fine with me, I need to get a REALLY old phone battery out of inventory, and he's stupid enough to believe that it will actually fix his phone's battery problems completely. Also, he's from out of town, and I'm a small indirect dealer. no return. ANYWAY, his reason for not signing another contract (and buying the battery) is that he heard that Verizon would be displaying a host of new devices to use on their new block of spectrum from the 700 mhz auction. He thinks it'll be later this year; I inform him that it'll be more like 3-4 yrs, what with product development/that whole OPEN ACCESS thing to any app, any device. it'll take a little while t...
What's the proper response here?
Statement: We have 1 gigabyte and 2 gigabyte memory cards.
Question: How much will that hold?
This is akin to the question, "How far away is that?" After telling someone the gas station is a mile down the road.
Is it appropriate to respond to the first question with, "1,024 MB," or "1,048,576 KB." The response most customers seem to be looking for is something along the lines of, "250 songs..... assuming the songs are 4 minutes in length and encoded at 128 kbps in standard MP3 formatting."
I believe GB should be enough of a defining term, since it is a standard unit of measure. We don't break down how far a mile is into feet for someone without looking at them like a moron first, so why should we have to break down data storage ...
I don't normally post in Shop Talk but
Today has sucked donkey dingos.
Walked in at 1 PM to a waiting custy with phonebook problems in the handset, then it just compounded from there.
Porting a Sprint # that just doesn't want to port...then 2 small carrier ports were successful when I knew for sure they would fail. And the chick that opened hadn't done the inventory count so I ended up doing it at 4 PM. The cust serv rep couldn't fight her way out of a wet paper bag and couldn't process an exchange to save her own life.
Thank gawd it's slowed down so I can breathe.
At least I hit over 100% today!
I'll go back to the lounge now.
stupidest customer ever!!!!!
Ok so i know customer are stupid but this one wins the award!
I just had a customer who called in to ask how many minutes he has left in his simply everything plan. What i wanted to tell his was that he had only 1 minute left and he had just used it talking to me but of course since i am customer care i had to nicely tell him that there is no overage with the plan.
But.. I've been with you for this long!!!
Yeah. Well.
When we have given you two payment arrangements for a past due balance, based on a promise to pay within the past 12 days, and you have broken both promises, then I dont care how long you've been with us. You wont be getting another one. 😛
Do you deal with Sprint phones here?
If we did, you probably wouldn't have to ask because it would say f*ucking SPRINT all over the building instead of at&t!!
Sprint CSAT?
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I hear that Sprint reps are going to start getting paid for customer satisfaction?
If so, I have some questions that arose from my curiosity:
1) Will this be true for retail store reps?
a) If so, how in the hell would that be tracked? Customer surveys or something? NPS scores?
2) Any idea how it would pay out?
Thanks.
