Oh my... one liner of the day

This took place while calling our credit department about an order that wasn't running credit correctly.

"Customer comes back dead..."

The customer had a report of death on his credit.

The order was for a Sidekick Slide. The information was for a man who was over 80 years old.

The Credit rep was laughing so hard after he realized what he said said that he had to mute me.

"She showed me the knife!"

Note: This is just a rough translation, because this whole thing happened in Spanish.

A customer comes to my store and is asking me about phones. I obliged and answered his questions.

Then I asked him which one he wanted, and he replied, "I can't. I need my wife's permission."

I said back to him, "I'm just she'd trust your judgement on it."

He says to me, "No, she would kill me."

I laughed.

He said, "She would! She showed me the knife!"

I laughed. REALLY hard. For a long time.

Then I saw his wife.

I saw her face.

I kinda believe him now.

which color do you see?

customer walked in, wanted some new phones. I'm Big Red. EVERYTHING IN THE STORE IS RED. NO ORANGE ANYWHERE.

he asks if this is Cingular/AT&T.

no....

well, can you tell me where that store is?

👿

O, I wish I wasn't so honest sometimes. I asked if I could help him get phones with Big Red; he looked offended, repeated his request for the AT&T store, then looked relieved that he only missed it by a few blocks. 👿 bastard. I used to think that people who posted about this were a tad strange, but now that it's happened to me enough times, especially when the entire company's SLOW, it pisses me off that someone can't tell colors.

Unfortunately

While I completely understand the frustration of a phone overheating to melting point, I cannot process a warranty /exchange/ for a phone you threw away a week ago.

I love it when

I love it when I get calls from Care and they
1-- make sure the customer is off the handset
2-- actually DID verify the device we're working with

And it makes my day and is a supersweet bonus when they go above and beyond and do all my troubleshooting and actually CHECK the ldi, instead of saying "no liquid damage".
I know it's not mandatory for them to do that, but I just want to hug awesome reps like that.

And store reps. The ones that actually try and fix the phone... Y'all are awesome.

Go Phone Comerical

Has anyone seen that new Go Phone comercial that does the Rock musical impression? Man, that's probably the best add I've seen come out of ATT/Cingular/ATT.

crutches

An older lady came in that was getting bad reception on her phone, I helped her, did a tower update on her phone and I was talking to her as she was about to leave; she was holding the door open a little bit. I heard a honk and jokingly said, "your husband is honking at you, you better hurry up before he leaves you!"
She laughed and said, "I don't think so, he wouldn't be honking, he is on crutches right now."
Then i saw her get in the passenger side and the man on crutches drove away. Is that safe? Is he hitting the gas pedal with his crutch? At least I'm not out driving on the same road they're on now.

Working for ATT vs. Sprint

Hello People, I am a long time lurker on the boards but recently started working in the wireless biz...

Anyway, I'm currently considering 3 jobs...2 of which are from the aforementioned companies as a Retail sales Consultant/Rep. I'm just curious about the pros and cons of working for both of the companies. I understand Sprint is recovering (hopefully) at the moment. but I just want to hear what are some of the pros/cons, advantages or benefits that each company has over the other as far as being working there.

I searched but quite honestly, Phonescoop doesnt have the greatest searching function and most of what I did find was outdated (2004-2006) information, so any input would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I'm considering thi...

Dumb.

Taken right from the news page.

https://www.phonescoop.com/news/ »

"Samsung engineers have created a new process that will allow ordinary tap water to provide the electrical power for mobile phones. Water stored in the phone will contact a metal plate. The reaction between the plate and water will create hydrogen gas. The hydrogen gas is then funneled into a fuel cell, where it will further react with oxygen to create electrical power. Because the reactions can generate up to three watts of power, these water-based fuel cells will be powerful enough to be used in devices such as mobile phones. Current versions of the fuel cell can provide power for about 10 hours, and the metal cartridge needs to be replaced about once every five days...
