Your Local Best Buy

How many of you have lost sales to Best Buy over this holiday season because of the pricing of handsets? Our store has been losing 3-5 new activation deals because Best Buy is selling Samsung Instincts/M800s for $49.99 instantly when our store sells them for $129.99 and that's after a $100 MIR. Does anyone know off hand if Best Buys has any particular clauses pertaining to their $49.99 offer aside from the fact the M800 has to be activated on one of 4 Everything data plans?

I SMACKED HER!!!

Okay, I didn't really. But GOD, I WANTED TO!

So this lady comes in and says she wants to convert a prepaid account to a postpaid account. Easy enough. I try pulling up the account, but can't because the lady went to Wally World to activate the account, and they activated it under the wrong address. (Like, not even close. We're in Atlanta, GA. They activated her on an address in DALLAS, TEXAS!!!) I get her to call into CS, who gives her the correct zipcode.

She then tells me that she already has an account and she wants to put the prepaid phone onto that account. Still easy enough...

So I start processing the activation (our system SUCKS!!! And was running exceptionally slowly). I get all the way through the activation (where it shou...

Iffy situation

Ok, so I've had a upper respatory (sp?) infection and tonsillitis going on a month now. I have no health insurance so there is nothing I can really do except pop over the counter bs. Anyways, I was talking to my co- worker today and KNOWING that I've had this crap for awhile. He freaks out on me and says that i need to take sick days?? ( we DO NOT get sick days) because i'm putting him at risk of getting sick..very true but there is really nothing I can do about it. He on the other hand does have health insurance and he says..Well then your making me spend my money because YOU are going to get me sick. So now hes threatening to call my Area Manager, cuz we have no manager at this time, and try to get me sent home. Well if I'm not here, I don...

So how was your sales week leading into Christmas?

From Friday the 19th to the 24th, I sold 29 phones...prolly about half of them were new activations (which is pretty good). Not counting 2 at no-commitment pricing or a GoPhone.

I'm gonna like this next commission check.

Metro Pcs Dealers

How Many Dealers have been bullied by their Metro Pcs Reps for What ever Reason, Or How many Metro Pcs Authorized Dealers Have Been Played on Location they wanted to open, and the location the rep was notified about was all of a sudden an interest of many other dealers.

I m just writing this to rant about the way the Metro Pcs Reps are Treating their dealers and its Such a Cult.

The Managers and Reps in a Few Markets that i am familiar with are not running the dealer base fairly.

Metro Pcs the Company is a very good concept but the area Reps who work for the company need a lot of improvement. They need to Re Read the Metro Pcs Code of Ethics and Follow it.

why????

why is it that its so frigging hard for customers to understand that our premium retailer stores are here to SELL phones and accessories to you and not just "oh im going to come to your store to complain and make you talk to customer care for me for an hour, but i'll buy my phones online thanks" ๐Ÿ˜ณ

and THEN they come in the store so YOU CAN ACTIVATE THEIR PHONE AND MOVE THE CONTACTS OVER?

jerks. ๐Ÿ‘ฟ

And so it begins...

Back-story is that we set up most of the activations that we have done in the past month as "delayed activations", set up to start working today.

First thing this morning, the phone rings.

Me - Thank you for calling ****, my name is ****. How can I help you?

Crazy Christmas Customer - Hi, I needed to find out if the phone I bought is active. It was supposed to be active today...Do you need the number?

M - [Before even pulling up the account] Have you tried making a call with the phone?

CCC - No.

M - ๐Ÿ™„ Okay, get the phone and make a call.

CCC - Do I have to turn it on to do that?

M - ๐Ÿ˜ณ ๐Ÿ˜ณ ๐Ÿ˜ณ [Tries to gather himself] Yes, ma'am. You have to turn the phone on in order to make a call. So go ahead and powe...

"can you do me a favor?" - "no."

we just had a guy in here to buy a charger for his phone....

i'm still sick and miserable and today is horribly slow so i've been falling asleep...

while my coworker is getting the charger, the guy looks at me and asks, "can you do me a favor?"

me: "uhmm.....like what?" ๐Ÿ‘€

him: "can you just like, call Target up and find out what price the charger is there?"

me: ๐Ÿคจ "i don't have Target's number" (i might, but i wasn't going to waste my time anyways.)

him: "oh, ok, whatever"

why the HELL would i use MY cell phone minutes to call up a competitor to find out what the cost is of a phone charger that the customer practically already has in hand?

Quick one...

Customer calls in:

C-I have heard the Centro will work with Lock Boxes, how much can I get one for?

Me-Well, let me look up your account...(looks up account)...ah, I see you have a NE2 credit and can get the phone for free after rebate!"

C-"Um, do you think it will go on sale after X-Mas?"

Me-"Maybe I didn't communicate properly. You get the phone for free."

C-"Yeah, but sometimes they have some really killer sales after X-Mas. I think I will just wait and see what I can get it for."

Me-"Free. Isn't free incentive enough? When can you come in so we can set you up with your FREE Centro?"

C-"I dunno. I am gonna wait and see what happens after X-Mas. I think I can get a better deal on it then. I'll call you back."

๐Ÿ˜ณ...

Wow

Now my boss is telling me how to do my job. I had a two 65+ customers come in buy two phones ask for navigator nothing else. and she proceeds to tell I needed to add the vpak data plan for there phones. Like a senior is really gonna use unlimited megabytes to go surfing the web. I just wish she would look at who I sell to before telling me off for not selling data.

Episode 3 of The Adventures of Bob, the Typical Cingular Customer

It's a hot yet beautiful summer day outside, and Bob is driving down the street with nowhere to go and nothing better to do. What better time to call Cingular to have his text messaging fixed...

Fifteen minutes into the conversation...

Bob: No, I'm on it right now! Can't you just press a button and fix it while I'm on the phone?

Rep: Sir, I'm trying to explain, we need to check the settings in the phone. This type of issue is usually caused by an incorrect message center number programmed into the phone. If I could have you check that numbe--

Bob: I don't have time for this technical mumbo-jumbo. Do you know how many important messages I'm missing?

Rep: Well sir, I can fix it if I could call you back on another phone. If you...

Does your store charge an "in-store activation" fee?

Or even heard of one that does?

Upgrades, new activations, prepaid, whatever.

i hate this woman.....

interesting situation.

couple days ago i tell a lady that such and such bluetooth headset is normally $69.99 and i can give it to her for $59.99 if she buys it today.
she agrees, and then i sell her the bluetooth.

she comes back in today.

says that she saw our sign offering 25% an accessory if a customer brings in canned food for our food drive.

i go ahead, ring her up as an exchange and put the 25% off, and refund her credit card the difference.

(a little background here:
i woke up this morning with a stuffy nose, a sore throat, and i was losing my voice. my coworker left to help at another location at 1:00pm. the moment he left, i was SLAMMED. six plus customers in line at one time, im being helpful and sweet and friendly ...

Selling prices

'Tis the season... ๐Ÿ˜ก

Cust: How much is that Bluetooth headset?
Me: That'd be 99.95$
Cust: It's for a Christmas gift
Me: Ok ๐Ÿ™‚
Cust: So how much is it then?
Me: ... 99.95$
Cust: But that's the same price ๐Ÿ˜•

Why on earth would the pricing be different if it's a gift?? I mean, everyone would buy "gifts" then... odd. ๐Ÿคจ

HAPPY HOLIDAYS!

I would just like to take this oppertunity to thank everyone who posts in this thread and participates in phonescoop activities. Reading these threads and conversing on the topics that really grinds our gears serves as the best possible distraction from the agonizing, and yet rewarding, world of wireless that we all participate in. May your holiday seasons be the best for all of you! ๐Ÿ™‚
