New story - netbooks

Customer comes in asking about netbooks. we talk for a minute and she says she wants to see one. I pull one out so she can see the size but the rest; battery, cord etc. is sealed so I'm not breaking the seal. She wants me to turn it on so she can see it. I say, its windows just like every computer you have ever seen. She says I just want to see it. I show her the working display one and say it looks exactly like this. She says I don't know I'm hesitant if I could just see it on.

Are you kidding me?! Its a computer, they all look the same.

She turned out to have a huge deposit and is a prepaid person. Figures.

Quote of the day

It's really hard to take a customer seriously when he says this:
"Yes I have the insurance and I heard if I pay a Fifty dollar deductible I can get a free phone."

Co Workers

So we have this new guy working here and seriously every time he talks to a customer it makes me cringe. He just has no idea what hes talking about and he seriously will talk for like 20 mins with a customer about nothing. Gives out wrong info all the time and just over all bad.

Not to mention he gets bad survey scores which affects the rest of the stores commission checks. Everyone (including the managers) hates him yet there is really nothing we can fire him for. I just want him to be out of my store. ๐Ÿ˜ก

AT&T...

Does anybody else share a passionate dislike for AT&T? If you live in Dallas, your opinion does not count, because your bias towards the company is automatic. In fact, 3 major carriers are offered where I work, one of them being AT&T. I started working for the company in Dallas, where disliking AT&T would be a risk against your life. I moved to CO and I realized how much AT&T sucks. First of all, their pricing is outrageous. For the same price, why not get Verizon (supposedly the 'best' network)? Their phones really suck, especially the interface. Their customer service is closed on Sundays (people don't stop having problems with their phones/service just because it is Sabbath day...). Those are just a few reasons...I could write a long blog...

Chat reps....

I'm in the mood to rant a bit. Any other chat reps out there?

What annoys you most?

I hate it when:
Customer's wait only 20 seconds before saying "HELLO!??!?!?!?"
Customers just end the chat once you given an answer before you can say anything else.
They end the chat abruptly without even saying thank you.
You spend over 2 hours with them and they don't have any way to pay but cash. HOW DO YOU EXPECT TO PAY ONLINE?!
Abbreviated and unintelligible typing.

There's more to be added but that's it for now lol. Add to this list everyone! What are your pet peeves?

Anyone had this day before?

I work for a retailer and we usually have two employees per location. Today I am getting all of the crap and my co-worker has sold every phone in the store. It is just bad luck but I am about to kill someone if I don't get a real customer through the doors here before the end of the night!!!

Customers

So if I sell you on a phone and I tell you that I will have one for you in 10 minutes because I have to go pick it up from another store. If you want to go to radio shack across the street and purchase the phone for free instead of $100 go ahead but if you do don't come back and tell me how you just got the phone for free and you won't be picking the phone up from me! C'mon that is so rude and I don't need your radio shack phone rubbed in my face.

And that's what really grinds my gears.

awkward.....

Customers, please do not come into my store to pay your bill (or do anything else) on a phone call with your significant other and argue with them about all of the problems the two of you are having. I don't need to hear it ๐Ÿ˜ก you don't need to say it, and the 6 year old with the coloring book in the corner is asking his parents questions that he probably shouldn't be for another 8 to 10 years or so ๐Ÿ˜ข Just thought you should know.

just got punched by a customer

i'm a 19 year old female, 5'6, and completely and utterly unintimidating.
i have this crazy customer in the store, acting like he is on meth or something, screaming at me and my coworker, sayin how he hates gays and all this stuff. so i make a joke saying well actually my male co-worker is gay and he goes "oh oh that's okay" and then i said i'm just kidding and he starts yelling at me and punches me in the arm. WTF!

assault or what?

**** customers

What customers? When you open at 7 am cause it's a holiday and you enjoy a leisurely drive that starts at 530 am and you wake up at 5 am to cleanse the insidious flesh of a cell phone salesman.

Seriously? Today?

I already don't want to be here. It's been slow, and I'm annoyed. Don't tell me to get everything set up for your new phone, and then sit on the couch and argue with your current provider about why you're cancelling their service. Either come ready to be my customer 100% or stay where you're at. My activation system is tied up with your sale right now, and I can't do anything should another customer walk in the door. And learn to communicate with proper English. Please.

That is all

So at what point is it ok to...

Call my boss and tell him it's slow, so I can get permission to close early, so I can tell the guy who gets here in an hour that he doesn't need to come in? How many hours of zero customers does it take before we start losing money?
