Ya, it doesn't really help their case if the ESN is still active on an account in suspend mode and notations state someone is not allowed to be helped anymore. Don't involve us in your domestic issues, geez!

I've told them that the phone was marked lost/stolen and I have to call the owner and verify you are supposed to have it. They freak out and leave the phone behind. I mail it back to the original owner.

Had a customer call in trying to get 2yr b2b pricing on a 1yr renewal (lost/stolen program) for a wfg exchange. Problem was they already did an exchange and wanted 2yr b2b pricing w/ 1yr renewal. Customer was pretending to be a customer care rep asking if we could honor it. After I pulled up the account and reviewed the notes I asked for the person's last name. They asked me why I needed their last name when they ...

Re: Verizon is to expensive
Jul 2, 2008, 7:06 AM

It's probably best to ask the millions of customers that VZW signs up every quarter why they chose VZW instead of Sprint knowing Spring gives a lot more away for less cost. If two burger joints existed and the one that sold burgers for $10 was consistantly busier than the one that sold burgers for $8... It'd make ya think... why would someone pay $2 more for the same burger? The $10 burger must taste better... maybe use a higher ...

AllTel customers might or might not leave once the merger is complete, but they can't take the assets with them (equipment, stores, call centers, and most important spectrum). This aquasition isn't to get a numbers boost (that's just the bonus). This was planned for increased coverage and capacity. Did you forget that VZW just won the 700 Mhz not too long ago?

I think they'll get some customers, but not a lot. I can see a majority of the users that will buy it current iPhone users just upgrading.

The problem I see is handsets are already getting more expensive comparitively. Yes, there still are free phones, and some decently priced... but, it wasn't too long ago (december 2004) that I remember almost every VZW phone was buy one get 3 free! Even high end phones (LG-7000 for example) were having that deal. Now, the only get 3 free phones are the u410 and the 5400... just two phones. I don't think they'd be that much cheaper if ...

Re: Inflating Commissions?

You just had a bad sales rep if they didn't explain the free month trial to you. Doesn't matter what the sign on the door is, some people just do stuff like that at any job they have. And to answer your question, they don't get paid on it unless you keep it for 90 days I think. So having a 1 month trial doesn't pay them any extra until month #4.

Re: one truth you should know about vzw before you switch to them.
May 5, 2008, 2:09 PM
in the Verizon forum

Yah, guess what! Verizon now charges $1 million to do an ESN change. It must be true because I said it and I work for Verizon. Righttttt.... The $20 device initiation fee is when you change your ESN not through a WFG exchange. If you did an upgrade and were billed the $20 fee, when you exchange you already paid the $20. The exchange order already changes your ESN for you, so no need to create a second order that ...

The only software I've ever seen was designed for PDA phones. It duplicates messages received and sent. It either uses text messaging to send that duplicate message, or more likely it uses a data session to connect to a host that stores the messages in a database for you to retreive later.

Make sure it has the latest software update on it. Something in the software caused issues with 1x Signal. Apparantly, LG sent a software fix to help this phone out. I say you need a new phone altogether though because even with a software update that phone stinks for signal.

LOL. Yah, you wouldn't need to wheel the entire pepsi machine in, but just the modem. But think about the fact that you can slap a modem on just about anything. Wouldn't you like it if there was software developed so your refridgerator could text you when you're low on milk? How about having a gps/modem in your vehicle and one on your garage/home. When your within a mile of your house your heat/ac turn on to a preset temp automatically. ...

With data being a huge thing, practically anything. Think outside the box. I know a lot of vending machines have modems in them that will transmit reports back to an office and alert for restocking. Not a lot of data transferred, but still usable.

I think you're best bet to find out is to go to the local headquarters within your area. Follow one of the engineering team members. When his or her guard is down, kidnap them and force them to tell you. Or keep asking people who don't work in that department... they could be having interwork relations with a network person and have insider scoops on that.

There is a step-down program. If a line is active under someone else's name you can transfer the service after 6 months and your credit check will get step-downed ($0 if it would've been $125, $125 if it would've been $400). That is... if you can manage to keep it without service interruption 6 months straight...

Emails are text-based. They don't require much data. To know if 10 MB is enough for you look at these aspects instead: File Attachments - if you plan to open/view a lot of attachments, those add up fast, especially pdf files which most schools use for assignments/syllabus. Web Browser - Text-based web pages aren' the big deal, but a page with lots of images is gonna suck up your data. Applications - Some applications use a data connection to transmit. Google maps, ...

Actually, I can't think of a current model phone that doesn't have dual nam. The problem is getting the same ESN on 2 different numbers in the system. Possible, but not supposed to be done. It can cause issues with billing.
