Beware the test drive lies!

I ported back to ATT within my 30 day test drive on 2/8/08, and I have yet to see my early termination fee credited.

As I calculate it, Verizon owes me over $80.00, yet they keep sending me statements that say I owe them over 90.00, mostly from not crediting the ETF.

Beware!

Those credits can take 2-3 months to apply, not to mention if we owe you money you might not see it for another 6 weeks after that.

Just keep hounding the store you got it from, and any decent rep/manager will expedite the process as quickly as possible.

If it was the ETF, it should be $175...prolly the act fees and prorates that haven't cycled thru billing.

How many lines did you activate? Cause an ETF is $175, but you're talking about $80. That's pretty close to 3 activation fee's on a share plan. Need more information here.

I received an email from Verizon CS stating I never returned the phone and that is why the ETF has not been credited. So...if I received a credit for returning the phone on my VISA card...that means I didn't return it????

Sounds like Verizon is buying time at my expense.

Grrrrrrrr 👿 👿 👿 👿

You need to go into the location where you bought it, Verizon should have contacted them to see if the phone was returned so somewhere there is a bit of miscommunication

CS will credit the ETF back ONCE the phone is received or you can do it at the store. Please do it at the store so CS doesn't have to deal with it.

VZW is not "buying time" at your expense. They make BILLIONS each year, you think they're trying to hold on to your $100s to make their balance sheet look bigger? Get real.

1) It's the internet, who gives a f*ck.
2) The OP is not a VZW customer (anymore)
3) Reference 1. The OP could be making stuff up, maybe not. Also, the previous poster might not even be affiliated with VZW. No way to know!

So... You're an idiot.

What makes you think I'm not affiliated with VZW and what was wrong with my suggestion? Obviously there is something wrong, either not everything was stated by the OP or there was some sort of miscommunication between the agent and CS. If something is wrong go to the store you purchased the phone at and have them help you fix the problem.

Also just because this is the internet there is no reason to be rude to other people and even thou...

Did you actually make a payment on the account? Or have a security deposit. If you didn't do either of those you are not going to be due any credit. If you never paid anything to VZW why are you going to get a refund (unless you had equipment billed to the account but you mentioned a VISA cc)

That is a good point, they would just zero out the acct.

i have a couple of questions for you. how did you purchase the equipment? was it mailed to you (telesales, vzw.com, or a 3rd party website) or did you purchase it at a corporate/direct store, or an indirect dealer. if it was at a corp store they should have notes on the account for us to credit the etf or a cs rep can call the store to have them confirm and then notate it. if its an indirect store we dont need proof that it was returned. if it was shipped to you you are looking at 1 to 2 months for there to be notes on the account but still someone has to manually put the credit in. if you have already received the credit on your visa cc then the equipment has been received and etf should be credited. please read my previous post about a ref...

4. Will the customer receive a bill if he/she takes his/her number to another wireless carrier within the 30-day Test Drive period?

Yes, any eligible Test Drive credits will be applied on the 2nd bill after the customer takes his/her number to the new wireless carrier.

Don't know if this is helpful or where you are in your bill cycles (1st?) but this is how it appears the policy works so I thought it would hurt to get the info straight from the source...

If you already as you stated received credit on your card for the phone, either the store or the warehouse has the phone. You DO NOT have to go out of your way to go to the store, however there is a specific "Test Drvie Dept" that is to credit the account IF they are notified properly that it was disconnected due to the Test Drive. It does "per policy" take 2-3 bill cycles, otherwise, a CSR on the phone could credit it as well. The whole policy/time frame is somewhat ludicrous and could certainly use some FINE TUNING.. 🙄 And once you have the full credit on your acct, you might want to make sure "someone" request a refund for you otherwise it will sit even longer.....

If I'm not mistaken, our new policy is that we will only credit the activation fees if the line is ported out or disconnected within 2-3 days(check your VZW M&P's). Also your account automatically disconnected once you ported out your numbers. So, VZW is not wasting your time just to get more money out of you.

I did go to the local store, and the CS rep there said all I need to provide in my email is the store number and the receipt number and they can see that the phone was returned. After providing that, within an hour, I received an email back stating the 175.00 credit will be on my next bill!
