I may have missed it but what about voice dialing? I use this all the time and the lack of it is the reason I do not have an iPhone.

This is true, I have had a 5 line account for a long time and have had a number of Motorolas, many LGs, several Nokias, a few Samsungs and a Blackberry on these lines. I live and work in a fringe area. There is no comparison for signal and sound, the Motorola phones are the best.

We were considering moving to Cingular because of their improvement in coverage in our area, but with the name change that will never happen. My wife had so many problems with ATT, both landline and the old ATT wireless, she will never let it happen.

What appeared to be new was a 700p without a camera, the site showed also showed the 700p with a camera. I believe the 700p that has been out for awhile is the one with the camera, but I could be wrong.

Just tried it, worked ok. There is even a "new" phone, Treo 700p Without Camera, same price as Treo with camera.

Re: T-Mobile worst in Cust Service/ Hello VZW

I have had good luck with Verizon customer service, but I found that signing up for My Accounts on the Verizon web page and using the web to make changes to my plans, add/remove features, ordering new phones, etc; and to keep track of voice and text usage has been invaluable. I rarely need to speak with anyone at Verizon and when I make a change I know it goes through.

In general I agree with you. The mall I was in has a T-Mobile corporate store, which was fairly crowded, and three T-mobile dealers. If the difference was going to be less then $50 I was going back to the corporate store. It just seemed odd that none of the dealers would sell me a Sidekick with a data only plan.

Sidekick w/ data only from agent?

I am think about getting a Sidekick with a data only plan. I have gone to a couple of T-mobile authorized dealers to inquire and I was told that I can't get a Sidekick with a data only plan. I know this is not true since I can order this configuration on T-Mobile's web page. I was going to the dealers to see if I could get a better price on Sidekick. Are authorized dealers not allowed to sell ...

I will pass, but thanks anyways. It appears that adding the blackberry will cost an additional $45/month, I am looking at other options.

I have family plan with the primary line NE2 coming up soon. I would like to get a Blackberry but I it not listed as a possible upgrade on the Verizon My Accounts page and it appears that it is not possible online to put together a new family plan with a Blackberry. Is this something that just can't be done or it can't be done online but can be done at a corporate store? Thanks.

Re: Is the v325 reliable?
Sep 2, 2006, 12:45 PM
in the Verizon forum

I have a V325 and it is a very good phone, the reliability problems I had with previous Motorola phones, charger port and antenna, have been fixed in this phone. In all cases I was able to fix the problem and keep on using the phone. I have had three Nokia phones in the past, although not the 6236i, and all have stopped working, as in dead, anywhere from 1 week to 3 months after the warranty expired.

I read something recently that T-mobile will roll out an add-on that will allow you to have unlimited calling to any 5 domestic numbers you choose. I think is going to happen this fall, but I can't find the reference.

I had a phone fell in a sink of water. I took the phone completely apart and used rubbing alcochol to clean all the circuit boards. Then I put the phone on a cookie sheet and put it (without the battery) in the oven at the lowest setting with the door partially open for a couple hours. After I put back together it worked fine.

Re: Contract length using an existing phone

Thanks for your response. It is not the one year contract that bothers me but it is that fact that the phone cannot be upgraded for a year. I added the line for my wife's son who had moved in and he didn't have any money for a new phone the line was added, now he does but he can't get a new phone until the end of the contract even though I never bought a phone at the beginning.

Contract length using an existing phone
Aug 11, 2006, 2:00 PM

I added another line to my family plan and I didn't buy a new phone but instead used a phone I already owned. This was done at a corporate store and a now this line has a one year contract. Is this correct? Since I am not having to subsidize a new phone shouldn't this be off contract. The sales guy was very indignant about the whole thing, at first he told me the phone wasn't E911 compatible, which I ...

In our home we have marginal reception and if someone want's to talk on a cell phone and walk around the house at the same time they use the V325, if they want a pretty phone and don't mind standing in the corner where there is reception they use one of the LG phones we have. RF and audio performance wise I just think the Motorola consistently puts out a better product than LG.
