Is the v325 reliable?
One thing to keep in mind when researching a phone on PhoneScoop is that any Moto product will have many unjustified negative reviews. Moto is like Microsoft in that there are certain people who hate these companies and will never report anything positive about their products.
Moto like all companies produce their share of junk. But many people wil knock Moto's good products just because they are Moto haters.
Must be because they are the biggest (in US). Few other companies have these unreasonable type of haters.
Plus, it's got an extendable antenna so that should help some with reception, despite naysayers saying the antenna does nothing. I've been in poor analog areas with that phone and the antenna helps immensely. The Nokia doesn't even have an antenna.
I have had three Nokia phones in the past, although not the 6236i, and all have stopped working, as in dead, anywhere from 1 week to 3 months after the warranty expired.

ok, I haven't been with verizon long, however I trust NOKIA with my eyes shut, they have proven to be excellent on most phones they launch, like any other manufacturer of course there is the ocassional bad apple, but with motorolas I've had nothing but trouble, I had a razor and it was awful, I got a replacement for it and it had problems too, I don't know if the v325 is any better but that kinda ruined motorola for me. I would go for the nokia if I were you 🙂
It's amazing, your avatar, says "I'm too wide for your narrow mind" yet you recommend against a v325 without ever using one. And on top of that you state that you have not been Verizon long, so you have no idea of how the various CDMA ...

That is just my opinion. just like you are voicing yours. and I didn't have the "low end motorola" like the v325, I had the more expensive one that you would figure they would put more effort into. and is not only ONE phone that I had, I had to get it replaced twice and it still wasn't good.
End of discussion. Grow a brain
The 325 is a solid, few frills phone that is fairly durable and works well. It would be a good choice and having a Tri-mode phone when your traveling in an area that does not have dense coverage (assuming you will not always be in the largers cities of Montana).
