Hi all,
I'm about ready for a new phone and was hoping for a little advice. What I'm looking for is good voice quality, good reception (especially in Analog mode), decent speakerphone with workable voice commands. Camera is secondary concern. I don't need Bluetooth, any Web capabilities, MP3s or other frills, just a solid phone to use as, well a phone. I live in the San Francisco Bay Area and am not too worried about reception here, but we have a vacation cabin 17 miles into the forest just north of Yosemite, hence my need for good Analog reception.

I was looking at the Moto V325 and LG VX5200, but was leaning towards the Moto due to great feedback I've read. Now LG is introducing the 5300. Any reason to wait, since what I gather the onl...

Well, just to confuse you even more, there is rumor of a new 325 that has added bluetooth and Vcast as a 815 replacement. That rumor comes from the Moto rep that visited my store. My guess the new one would be all digital. So if you absolutely NEED a trimode phone you had better snatch up the 325 before it disappears.

There is a small thin white ring around the silver plate on the front of the phone, it lights up LED blue... It's very cool lookin'. I agree with the rest of the posts, go with the 325, the 5200's had some issues at the beginning, and my experience with LG's.......they are all around excellent phones, just dont be one of the first ones to buy them....let them work all the software bugs out first.

I decided on the V325. The Costco (Wireless Advocates) said I could exchange for the LG5300 if and when they get them. So far in the short time I've played with it, I like the 325. I'll post more impressions when I've spent more time with it. Thanks for all the input, guys! 😁

Buy the 5300.. It is really good and has bluetooth that works great with the plant 320r..

We have tested for 2 days straight and the 5300 is quite nice.

Very much like the 8300 just without music..

Thanks Theatermax. Don't really need Bluetooth. Any other differences over the 5200?

the 5300 is a little wider that the 5200, which is a plus in my book because I love the keypad layout. (its exactly like the 8300) The 5300 has a somewhat customizable UI. (so you can get rid of the red bars!) I don't know if its going to have the Navigator feature like the 325 has, and to me thats the only feature the 325 has that I like. Camera quality will probably be a little better on the 5300 and it has a flash. And overall performance wise I just think the LG consistently puts out a better product than Motorola.

i also think the 5300 is more attractive than the 5200. I hate the way the 5200 looks... inside and outside.

In our home we have marginal reception and if someone want's to talk on a cell phone and walk around the house at the same time they use the V325, if they want a pretty phone and don't mind standing in the corner where there is reception they use one of the LG phones we have. RF and audio performance wise I just think the Motorola consistently puts out a better product than LG.

have you tried the 8100, 8300, 9800??? all of those phones have gotten great reviews and atleast where I live get excellent reception. And all of these phones are better than anything motorola has out right now.
