Bluetooth settlement payment

FYI for those who opted for the $25 credit instead of returning the phone. It looks like that credit was applied over the weekend to my account. So far, all I see is a "-$25" on the Total Other Credits & Charges line, but am fairly confident that it's the lawsuit settlement payment.

If you didn't know all you needed to about OBEX and Bluetooth on the V710 by 2/2/05 and still bought one, then you have no reason to whine now about wanting a settlement.

Never a problem with it. Sounds great, works great. The fewer moving parts the better, I say! :)

It's no lemon and worth getting. The pic/video is average at best, but the reception, BT, MP3 player, and other features are great. I love this phone and plan to keep it for several years. If you can get it free, go for it!

That's really too bad. I've loved my V710 since I got it in October. I count myself lucky as others have had a variety of problems. I just spent another 10 minutes poking about the phone and can't find any way to make it say "Contacts" instead of "Phonebook". Hope you get this fixed.

Yours says "Contacts"? Mine says "Phonebook" (or whatever the other Category names I've created). Nowhere--that I see--does it say Contacts. Hmmmm...????

Did you set yours up in Phonebook>Categories>New or are you expecting some pre-set ones? Mine (40.0R) works fine.

Yeah, I do that all the time!! Also a pain is when I'm using the HS and the phone displays "BT headset signal weak". With no notification to the HS--just the sound of silence--it takes me a while to figure what's wrong. Of course the phone is 20 feet away so the display doesn't do me much good!

Everything I've read says that you should NOT fully drain today's batteries. Apparently, they respond better to "topping-off" regularly. Perhaps you're batteries are an example of this. I doubt VZW will replace the batteries, but you can always try.

Cool idea! Thanks. A couple more Qs: What does all that listening do for battery life? Is it a hefty drain or not too bad? What s/ware is required to do that? What size TF are you using to get 2-3 albums on the phone? Thanks again. :D

Just looking for an opinion here: I take very few pictures (and when I do, I don't keep them on the phone very long). I don't use the video (except once in 6 months). I sent 4 ringtones from walmart.com to the phone and doubt I'll bother with any/many more. So...is there ANY reason I should consider the TF card? Is there anything it does that I'm not considering and that I might find useful? Thanks for any opinions/suggestions.

Re: saving sounds

It's possible. All mine are .mp3's I sent over disguised as .mid's. So, you've gone to settings>ring styles>soft>soft detail>calls and then looked for your ringtone and selected it? and it won't play that tune when a call comes in? And for your personalized ringer id you goto settings>ring styles>soft>soft detail>ringer ids>on and that doesn't work either? (I know I'm being obsessive, but it pays to lay out all the details) If that's the case, then I'm stumped.... :(

I think you need to go to the Ringers settings (not to the Sound settings) to make it your ringer. Also, go to each person individually to set a ringer ID. Hope this helps.
