Battery Question

Nitefury

Mar 15, 2005, 11:19 AM
Lately my batterys have sucked. I have 2 Batteries i only charge them when they fully run out (im really anal about this because i want max performance from my batteries) and switch them after charging (for max performance). Lately the life of the battery is like from sun up to sun down. Has anyone else seen a decrease like i have? Can i call verizon and suggest giving me a fresh battery, or is this somehow my fault?

Please, Respond!

Everything I've read says that you should NOT fully drain today's batteries. Apparently, they respond better to "topping-off" regularly. Perhaps you're batteries are an example of this. I doubt VZW will replace the batteries, but you can always try.

Where have you heard this? I've always heard that a full drain is best for a battery.

I purchased the extra capacity battery and it works like a bear. I highly recommend it. It outlasts the one that comes with the phone 5 to 1. Also the batteries of today are not like the batteries of old. It is only recommended to fully discharge the battery only when it's brand new. After that you don't have to. You can top it off every day and it's not going to hurt the regular life of the battery.

I have the extra capacity battery and I have been able to get 4:46 of talk time. The extended is great. Being it is still new, I completely drain the battery and than charge it up. It's called conditioning the battery and is recommended to do this procedure every few months to achieve full operational capacity of the battery

If you have had the battery under a year then Verizon will replace it for you. They have to under warranty. I had an LG 6000 over a year ago and had that phone for about 7 months and Verizon replaced the battery. Sometimes you get a CSR who will give you a hard time in that case, speak to a supervisor and you shall receive 😁
