motorola's not in major trouble just yet... this should just be a wake up call for them to get something besides the razr out soon.

Thank you Moto for offering two versions of one phone: one version has an awesome menu yet is totally and completely screwed over with its browsing capabilities (and lack of an expandable memory card slot), while the other one is screwed over by an ancient menu system but has a faster internet connection.
So why can't you just use the Linux interface on one version of the phone? And why do you have to have the expandable memory slot ...

Do you actually work for Verizon? You can't activate a vzw razr on Sprint because vzw uses brew while sprint uses java.
Also, fyi: nextel is an iDen network, not GSM. Just because it uses a sim card doesn't mean it's GSM...

Don't know about what you can get, but I know they have some awesome phones over there.
As far as getting a phone there, make sure you get a quadband phone that is unlocked. Setting up with Cingular shouldn't be a problem, because they have instructions online.
By the way, you could look into a Nokia if there are no unlocked phones. I've heard they're pretty easy to unlock.

You have to turn on bluetooth on the phone, then search for it from your computer. Then, you click send or whatever and send the file. Unless, like rich said, your ring tones have DRM on it.
Alternatively, you could use a usb cable if your phone has the usb port.

Settings > Security > Lock Application
At Lock Application, you enter the unlock code (0000 if kept at default). Then, scroll down to audio and press the right arrow key.
