Do I have to convert from WMA -> MP3 to transfer to SCH-A930 using Bitpim?

Or is there a way to enable MP3 playback ability with ringtones?

Does Bitpim even support WMAs?

And.. a cable comes with the SCH-A930, correct?

And one last question: My Macbook Pro has Bluetooth reading capabilities (I believe..) so I can communicate wirelessly with Bitpim somehow and not have to even worry about a cable?

Which Bluetooth headset with A930?

Hi guys. I'm seriously considering this model for my next phone. I want to get a Bluetooth headset to use with it, but I know some cell phones and BT devices don't always "play well together". If I get one, I want to be able to use ALL the features (like being able to initialize a call using the voice commands).
Has anyone found one that works well and allows you to use it the way you're supposed to be able to? If so, what make/model? Thanks!

Locking the phone

Is there an easier way to lock the phone rather than going into tools>phone settings>security>lock code>lock mode>etc.>etc. Thanks.

USB Connection

Need some help with USB connection to a PC. When I hook up the cord it will not connect the phone and the PC. I can put the card in a card reader and it works fine. I returned the cord to Verizon after talking with tech support, but the new one didn't work either. Any help would be appreciated.

A better mp3 hack using the data cable and BitPim?

Hello, I tried Protege's mp3 hack. Now since I'm blind, I picked this phone because I could feel the buttons fairly well, and it has a bunch of voice output features for the menus and dialing. I had sighted assistance for putting in the mp3 hack, but you have to do this each time you want to play mp3s, and you can't use the media buttons on the front. Therefore, I can't do this each time, because the menus don't speak when putting in the secret codes, and then if I got it to work, I could only use the menu keys to play mp3s. I understand that the front media keys will play wma files, but I can't find a way to convert a batch of mp3s to the wma format from the right click context menu. Can anyone recommend a converter that I can right click w...

A930 vs LG VX-8300

I am getting a wireless phone and have been comparing these two phones. I have done quite a bit of research and feature wise, they seem nearly identical.

So I am wondering, those of you that may have done the same comparison, why did you choose the Samsung?

Features that are important to me in order are.

Primary.
1. Usability/performance as a phone. Bat life.

2. Reception/build quality.

2. Calendar/alarm/appointments. Basic PDA "like" stuff.

Secondary
3. MP3 player usability/sound quality. I am very technically proficient in this area.

4. Speaker phone.

I like the idea of an internal antennae. I would like to use blue tooth stereo headphones when I ski. I would like to be able to update the phonebook/ calendar from ...

keeping text messages

It seems when my inbox/sent messages reach about 100, it tells me the memory is full and I have to erase some/all. A friend has the Razr and she has hundreds of messages kept and the phone never asks her to delete anything.

Is there a way to increase the kept messages capacity?

dave73: i have a question

I read your review on this phone
I have a question about the music player + playback keys

dave73 said:
Cons: The mp3 player can only be accessed from a hidden menu, and then, the phone must stay open at all times, or the mp3 player shuts off. The front buttons only work for wma file, which I dislike.

If you can't close the phone and use the music player, why did they include external music keys? Did I miss something? You said that the buttons only work for WMA, and does this mean if you are playing a WMA file, you can close the phone and keep the music player on?

Thanks!

T9 - adding words.

Just in case you're trying to figure out how to add words in T9 format, here's what you u should do:

When typing a message in T9 if you come across a word that isn't in the dictionary, switch to ABC mode, type the word you want to add, then switch back to T9 mode. The phone will automatically add the new word.

For right now, there is no way to delete words once they have been added.

mp3 enabled??? maybe

So we (friend and I) got into this internal menu on this phone and there is an option for mp3... When you select it, it says: "No mp3 directory found on memory card"...Will this be resolved by re-formatting and creating a folder????

I will be testing to see if this will enable mp3's on this phone when I get home...

Question before purchase

Currently own a Samsung A670 and LOVE IT. The only 2 things wrong with it is 1. No Speakerphone and 2. Front Display is hard to read. My upgrade date is next week and I'm looking hard at the A930. I dig the exterrnal display. Cool I've looked through the reviews and forum and have had most questions answered ... Does the front display show when a call was missed or a message or voicemail is waiting? I couldn't find anything in the manual either about what is displayed on the front display. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks ... Cheers!

Which visual features can be turned off to save battery life?

Hello, as a blind user of this phone, I will never use its camera, nor will I use the GPS portion. Do you have suggestions as to which features I could have turned off to conserve battery life? I can have a sighted person go through the menus and turn off features, and then they'll stay that way until changed.
Thanks a lot.
Matthew
