Samsung SCH-A930

Just got our new a930. 😁
All my previous clam or closing type phones would hang up the call when I close it. This one will not or at least I and tech support cannot figure out how.
😕 😡
I have it set to answer the call by flipping it open.
Does anyone know how to make it hang up when you close it without pushing the speaker button on the side?

I downloaded the Bitpim program in order to put music and ringtones onto my SCH-a930 from my iBook G4. In order to connect my phone to my computer and this program, I've been using the USB cord that comes with the VCast Music Essentials Kit (CSAMF 19-4.5 -- though I don't know if these numbers mean anything.)

The first few times I used the program and USB cord, there were no problems. But when I attempted to use the program today, it would find my phone and give me the option to retrieve or transfer information, but I was unable to transfer data (ringtones, specifically) to the phone giving me a "phone is not responding while manipulating the file system message."

When I pressed the "detect phone" button again, it gives me a "Found ...

How do you add new words into the 'word' mode of text messaging.

Anyone heard of any sofware update coming soon for this phone? Rumor has it there will be one and make this phone bluetooth in stereo for music. Just was curious.

Is there any way to delete songs on your mp3, using the actual phone. Also, I downloaded four songs from my windows media player guide to my windows library and they all have extensions ending in mp3, but when i try to sync them into the removable disk an ERROR comes up saying it does not support the file. ANY SUGGESTIONs.

anybody know what i need 2 tranfser music? like a cord?

and anybody know if i can take a pic with the phone closed?

Do you have to have Verizon's Music Package to transfer music to your phone or are you able to do it just using the SD card?

I have a Windows 2000 computer and Windows Media player 10 only works on XP. Any other suggestions for moving music?

Ok...this is something that's been bothering me for a few days...

i have two different 2.5 mm jacks for headphones...the first one, when put it, produces extremely quiet music, but if its put in just right (which causes the jack to always fall out), the music sounds good. Another i have is a converter to a 3.5 (stereo), and when pushed in only gets sound on one ear.

So...my question is...is there any way to resolve this w/o buying a headset? and if not, how much will these cost, because so far i can't find any price or any picture or any headset :/

The LED on the front of the phone, if you get an incoming call does it Display who is Calling?

Basically i accidentally hit the my account button all
the time and it starts to connect to the net therefore charging me.
Is there a way to disable the connection or lock it?

I am currently using the Audiovox 9900, which I love. What I really love about it is that you can change it from ring to vibrate with the push of a keypad button instead of a sensitive side button. And the side buttons that are there, are recessed a bit and it is virtually impossible to accidentally press one....in fact, I don't think it has ever happened in the three years that I have used this phone.

I went to the Razr v3 about seven months ago, and after about thirty days, I quit using it. Thank God I got it and another one free during a Verizon promotion. I plan on selling the Razr's. Hey Everyone!

I just got this phone and I love it so far. The only thing I dont like is that with my old LG 7000 I could email myself small music files and use those as ringtones.

When I tried with my 930, the sounds get sent to My Sounds folder. Is there any way to make those a ringtone?

I read all the massages about it, but i still cant log in my a930!
i use bitpim 9.04, when i'm connect the USB cable that i got with my a930, i connect it to one of my usb ports in my computer.
always i got an error message :

does anyone have a mac and tried using iSync to transfer anything to your a930...everytime i try it wont sync with it. I can get the bluetooth to see it but i cant sync so that i can put my contacts on the phone like i did with my old phone.

I have the vz music kit and am trying to use WMP to convert mp3 to wma to transfer to the phone. According to the docs, WMP will convert the mp3 file to wma as it transfers it to the phone.

The problem is that the conversion never happens, it hangs and never completes.

I can transfer a native wma file with no issues.

Any idea what's happening?

the day/date will only appear in the external display when I hold down the volume control button. it will not remain in the display if I just leave me phone alone. how can I get the date to stay in the external display?

I just got this phone and have messed around with the text feature. I'm very much used to the V710 in which everytime I type a letter or letters it would suggest a word. Does this phone do that? I put it in "word" mode but typing "Hi how" is very difficult... every time I try to do it I get "Hi Hi" not sure how to fix this. Can anyone help? If I leave it in abc mode I have to type out the whole word.

When i dont have service, the time stops moving??. Whenever i have no service, i notice that the time stopped and it doesnt move and then when it has service, it shows the correct time again. How do i get the time to keep running even though i dont have service?

I've called the customer service to help me out with this issue but nobody has been able to answer this question completely...it doesnt seem right with the answers they've given me...

I bought a brand new samsung a930 phone for a easy pay prepaid service through verizon. Then i bought the music essentials kit and couldnt get the phone to sync with the computer...

so now i called customer service and they said with easypay i couldnt get the music kit to work with my a930 because its prepaid...but im not trying to use the vcast service im just simply trying to sync the phone to my computer and load a couple wma's/mp3's on the phones main memory... is this true? i thought if u bought ANY music phone (even if its on prepai...

I have synced my .wma files on my computer to my phone (onto the microSD card) and 81 of the 301 songs I transferred came over with no title or artist information. The songs still play, but not information. I have checked in Windows Media 10 and all the information is there.

The other 120 songs display correctly. I am guessing something about filename lenght or something, but I would think the copy would not even work if that were the case.

Any one else run into this? Any suggestions?
