I read your review on this phone
I have a question about the music player + playback keys

Cons: The mp3 player can only be accessed from a hidden menu, and then, the phone must stay open at all times, or the mp3 player shuts off. The front buttons only work for wma file, which I dislike.

If you can't close the phone and use the music player, why did they include external music keys? Did I miss something? You said that the buttons only work for WMA, and does this mean if you are playing a WMA file, you can close the phone and keep the music player on?

Thanks!

You don't need to buy your music from the Verizon Wireless V-Cast store if you don't want to. All you need is a good media player like Windows Media Player (preferred) for creating .wma files. All I get is error messages for all of my files in the .wma format. But those same files in the .mp3 format play with no problem in the mp3 player, in the second hidden menu. But once you have workable .wma files in the my music folder, then you can use the music player with the phone closed, and use the buttons on the front. I hear th...

you can close the phone only if you are using the verizon music player which only supports *.wma files. The hidden menu thing is for *.mp3 files, which the verizon music player will not play because of some deal between verizon and windows(?). Honestly though, i thought using the *.mp3 funtion was going to be annoying since you have to leave it open, but it is actually no problem if you put the phone face down in your pants pocket -- it kind of contours to your leg 😁.

Not a bad phone at all, it just takes a little time to get used to.

Oh, that works out great for me since I have a Zen MP3 player, and my whole digital music library is in wma. 🙂

🤣 That's a good one, though I wouldn't want to have my phone in my pocket like that. It would make me think I'm wearing a maxipad. 🤣
