I've been going out of my mind trying to put a ringtone on my phone. I've done it before and now the way I used to do it won't work and nothing else seems to work either.

I've been trying to put my ringtone, less than 30 seconds, less than 300k, correctly renamed to a mid file, and I nothing works. I've tried emailing and no matter what it saves it as a .qcp file. I've tried the SD card, but no matter how many times I format or reboot, the phone won't recognize anything that I put in the my_sounds folder. I've followed the previous posts about putting sounds on the phone and absolutely nothing works. I've done the ID tag editor and everything. Has anyone else had this problem? ALRIGHT. THIS IS HOW I DID IT. I DOWNLOADED A AUDIO CUTTER TO MAKE MY RINGTONE. THEN I CUT MY SONG TO HOW I WANTED IT TO PLAY AS A RINGTONE ON MY PHONE. AFTER YOU HAVE CUT DOWN YOUR FILE TO HOW YOU WANT IT SAVE IT AS AN .MP3 FILE. NOW MAKE SURE THAT YOUR MINI SD CARD IS FORMATTED FOR THE PHONE. How do I get songs onto my phone using my computer and an SD card? I dont understand the WMA or mp3 thing? Can I drag songs from iTunes into the My Music folder on my SD card? Can someone please help me with this?

I don't know what happened, but all of a sudden I have no sound when I play my wma's.
The songs are there and I can choose and play whichever I want, but no sound comes out. I tried tinkering with the sound settings, but still nothing. I can hear my ringtones, even the ones on my flash card.

Any ideas what could have happened?

I've been able to load songs onto my microSD card in the WAV format. However, when I go to play them I get the error "Play Error: License acquisition failed." So what do I do now? Thanks!

anyone had any luck with getting it to work as a modem(or even with bitpim, for that matter) under Vista? Verizon isn't officially supporting it until the end of may, but I was just wondering if anyone else had been able to find anything

This seems to be a dominant issue on this board.

Most people come here looking for a way to do this. And most people like me are told my verizons tech dept. to come here. But yet I have not found any definitive instructions. So does anyone know where I can finf=d this info? Im a begginer when it comes to this phone and all Ive been able to do is transfer songs and pictures with the micro sd card. I also have only tried WMA songs.

So my question is in order to set my songs as ringtones do they need to be MP3's or can i keep them as wma. and do i need a cable or can i just do all this via the micro sd card? maybe someone can post (I would if I had the instructions) the definitive instructions.

For those who have read the other instructions, but are having trouble getting some MP3s to work... Just add an ID3v2 tag with Winamp and you should be good to go!

For everyone else, here are full instructions.

1. Edit the mp3 to the length you want it (I used Audacity). Some people have said files more than 300kb in size cause their phone to crash, this isn't the case for my phone.
2. Make sure the mp3 has an ID3v2 tag (I used Winamp to add the tag). It can be blank, doesn't seem to matter, as long as it is there.
3. Change the file extension to .mid.
4. Copy the .mid file to the My Sounds directory on the card (after you've formatted the card ON THE PHONE).

Done!

I've always used predictive text for sending text messages, but I can't for the life of me figure out how to teach this phone new words. It is extremely frusterating.

Is there any way to delete the default verizon pictures that automatically come on the a930?

I found the driver for the a930 on verizon's website a while ago when i got my phone. I just formatted my computer today and went through the pain of locating the driver again, and I thought I would post the link for anyone else who makes their way here looking for the driver...

Then just buy a cable ($7 - ebay) and download bitpim and you can do just about anything to the phone...

I bought my samsung a930 about a month ago and got 2 free moto v325i. I'm able to add my own ringtones, music, etc no problem. But my mom wanted one of my ringtones on her v325. I had to search the internet and found out about seem editing. I was wondering if there was a program that could do this sort of thing to samsung phones, mainly the a930. 🤣

the 325i doesn't allow usb transfer (verizon loves blocking stuff from us, don't they) but you can do a seems edit and enable this option. You could also enable other options verizon blocks as well as disable stuff yourself. for example, she couldn't open her contact list this morning. 😁

👿 I'm disappointed with the battery life that I've been getting on my A930. It's about a month old and mine's will fully drain in about 48 hours on standby. Anyone faring any better with the standard battery? My A670 used to last about 5 or 6 days before needing a charge.

I have a micro sd card that I have music, pics, ect. on. Well, the
files show up as being on my card when I have it in my computer but
don't appear when I have the card in my phone. Any help would be
appreciated! P.S. I am using a memory card reader/adaptor to transfer

My Vcast songs won't play continuously. I have to listen to one at a time. My EnV will play continuously, but not my a930. Supwidat?! 👿

To make a long story short my wife washed my pants with the phone in my pocket. After allowing it to dry properly I've powered it up and all things seem to be working fine on it. Everything I've loaded on it's still there the speaker/camera all work fine. Overall I'd say I'm lucky as I didn't have insurance. There is only one thing about the phone now and that is the flash light is permanently on. Even when the phone is shut off, if the battery has a charge it is still one. Does anyone know how to get this light turned off? I suspect that I'm out of luck, but wanted to look for some help anyhow... Any help would be appreciated!!!
