Nokia 6682 / 6681

Ok, I'm finally getting around to unlocking my 6682, using this site:

which has worked for me thus far on 5 other Nokias, but failed me the first time I tried to unlock my 6682. I'm not 100% sure what the DCT3/4 thing is, apparently either a generation of technology of Nokias, or a split of technology. I'm not sure.

Either way, I think I can figure out how to unlock it, but I need to determine if the 6682 is DCT3 or DCT4. Anyone know?

I got Nokia 6682 as an upgrade for 6230...Hey does any one know if Nokia 6682 has the got the auto key gaurd option on it??? Please lemme know..how to enable that..if ones there on this phone

Anybody use an external antenna with their phone? Is the CR-45: Mobile Holder the only way to connect one? I live in NE Mississippi and have found an external antenna really helps with dropped calls while driving out in the country.

I almost ordered this phone form Cingular, but when I got to the checkout they wanted to sell me the data cable separately and did not list one as being in the box. Does Cingular do like some NYC camera stores and take things out of the box to sell to you separately or is everything listed on the Nokia site come with the phone if you buy it directly from Cingular?

Anyone used this. It says it supports full HTML including log ins to all sites. Opera still won't allow me to log into Ebay. Maybe this will?

Can the 6682 be used as a modem to connect a laptop to your home computer's dialup ISP and not use Cingular's Internet service? I have tried to do it with my Motorola V551 but never could figure out how to do it.

I want to purchase this phone, the only thing holding me back is, I'm wondering if it has a full screen picture caller id display or if it's just a small picture centered in the middle of the screen-Thanks.

anyone know where i can get a free 3gp converter?

i wanna know if i get it do i need to buy additional hardware or software. if its turn by turn or just a bunch of maps.

and is there another available gps service like say garmin?

Because of problems with my 6682's firmware and/or phone software that was not repaired after a month at the Repair Center, Nokia is sending me a new unit under my warranty. Just what is stored on phone memory and how do I delete sensitive information such as passwords, internet connection log-ins, etc? I guess I should also format the memory card before I send the old unit back.

So I just recently picked up this phone (which is amazing)...but I transferred one song and now when I try to transfer another song...it says that there is not enough memory on the phone...am I doing something wrong???

Just got my new phone via the Firmware update from Cingular. However my job is offering me free Cell use with a company phone. I have not used this phone and Cingular sent me all new accessories plus i'll be happy to throw in a free leather case , battery, and 64mb rsmmc card. I have one .. perfect condition . ive never even taken off the screen covering .. I have a extra battery and a desk top charger that charges the ext battery .. also have two travel chargers .. clip case and OEM car charger

I just got this phone the other day, and I have no idea how to send emails. Is the Inbox similar to blackberry where the emails are automatically downloaded? I have a yahoo account (and a gmail account but I dont think I can use it)

I i just got the nokia 6682 and am having a problem.

When i open the pc suite and go to device manager, the contents of the phone dont show up. At first they did but they have stopped.

i want to put some of the apps on the card that came with the phone on to the phones memory. i.e. opera, wayfinder, etc. there is no possible way to just transfer them from the card to phone. so im wonderind (im at work right now)

can i use my memory card reader to save them to my pc. then bluetooth them to my phone and save it to the phones memory?

if any, how many of you have stored some of the apps to the phones memory and how was it done?

also how do i update the opera browser?

Having learned how to max out my 1gb card with myoozick, I'm happy - but for some reason, there are certain tracks that refuse to play. And there's no rhyme or reason to it - all the tracks are DRM-free mp3s. For example, it will play Mythic Slaughterbeast's "Dark Elves' Grimoir" parts I & III, but not II! All were encoded the same way (mp3s converted from AAC, all in iTunes).

Any idea what the problem is?

I just received an unbranded / unlocked 6682 (bought directly from Nokia) and I have an issue with the time. I set my home city (Phx, AZ) and the time then go to "Add a City" but the times are off. It shows St. Louis as one hour ahead of Phoenix when it is 2, New York is also shown as 1 hour ahead when it should be three. I contacted Nokia and they had me reformat my phone but to no avail. Now they want me to send it in (process takes about 1 month) to hopefully get it fixed. Has anyone else out there noticed this problem? I travel so it's a nice feature to have but it has to work right in order for it to be worthwhile and I can't go a month without the phone. Please le me know if you've had this problem or know how to correct it.

So the reviews say it's great, but the forum discussions say that there are serious software issues. On top of that, I can't find it at the stores, only online. Is it worth buying or am I going to end up with the same problems as everyone else?
