Nokia 6682 / 6681

So, got the Kingston 1gb card, shows on the phone as only 995mb of space, ok, so there's some loss, I get it, that's to be expected. Currently, it has 796mb used (all music - 166 songs)), 199 free. For some reason, it won't let me load anymore. The PC suite was loading these on last night & after a certain point, when it was loading songs, it would switch from saying "saved" when a song was loaded to saying "failed". I'm not 100% sure, but I'm pretty sure I've had more than 166 songs on it before, but I've had this problem in times past, I just didn't really take notice. Since then, I've formatted the card & figured it would go away, but it hasn't.

Any suggestions as to the origin of the problem and/or a solution?

I bought my 6682 used and the trial had already expired. It says it's $15 to get a full license. I'm wondering if anyone has used it in the US? Is there any monthly fee? How well does it work?

i need memory RIGHT NOW!! not now but RIGHT NOW!! i was reading some reviews and seen some folks had a problem with cards above 512 that were dvc rs-mmc i dont know. i'm looking for a 1gig card does anyone know where i can get a 1gig card for this phone that works flawless? no problems

PLEASE EXPRESS BRAND, if less than 1 gig express size, and cost.

On original Nokia's you could change the font size, and change the way contacts/info is displayed- could make it display 1 name at a time with no phone number and large font. Makes it much easier to see. OK, so my eyes aren't good anymore and I've had Nokia's wayyyyyyy too long!!

Ok, so one of my customers who bought a 6682 from me also has a tungsten T5 and wants to tether them together to surf the web on the palm device. When he tries to pair them, the palm is asking for a 'passkey.' Its not 0000 or 1234 like it would be with most other devices...I searched thru the on-line manual for the 6682 and came up with a 'bluetooth address' for the phone but that isn't what its looking for. After looking at palms site I discovered that the 6682 is not a supported device for the T5....which is what I think the problem is.


Anyone out there have any experience with this particular problem? Any help would be great.

I just got my 6682 and I am very disapointed int the video quality of files converter to 3gp. Can anyone tell me how to convert files to either RM or MP4 that will work on the phone without paying $200 for RP converter 10? Is there another player that can be downloaded to the phone that is mre friendly or cost effective? Thanks for your help.

I had one of the original 6682s when they put them on their website for sale. I kept my 32k SIM and worked just great. Made it through all the firmware issues, etc. no problem. Then last month, my phone started to reset it's self every now and then... slowly it got to the point where it was doing it a few times a day. So I called Cingular on April 24th and they shipped me out a replacement phone. Now I have had this replacement phone less than a month and it has reverted to the same state.

The 2 things that I can think of that I am doing with my phone that is unusual
1) Using the 32k SIM (I do have the 64k SIM, but am very afraid!)
2) I am using Go.Yahoo to sync with my Yahoo account.

Is any one less seeing a problem with the ph...

Mostly I just like that I don't feel as if I'm going to scratch it if I drop it into a pocket with some change or something. Also, the camera door is harder to open, so I haven't opened it accidentally since. The black keypad was "free" add-in, which is good because it looked stupid with the original, silver one.

The same ebay store has shiny faceplates in 8 colors, also.

Has anyone ever seen a curious message that says "Forwarding" when you try to reach someone and they don't pickup? The message only occurs occasionally and I reasoned that it's and indication that the person I'm calling has declined the call, as opposed to the phone just ringing to voicemail. I'd like to be sure though, so I can avoid potentially embarrassing situations.

So what has changed in the 6682 now that the phone is back out on the market. Do we with the older ones get to swap them out for what ever they fixed?

I was looking into getting one of those Nokia Music Stands for my 6682, however, I see there are 2 different ones: MD-1 and DT-1. Supposedly, the MD-1 is the correct one for my phone, but it looks so ugly/junky...it looks like a big curved tube, compared to the upright-speaker look of the DT-1. So does anyone know if the DT-1 works with this phone?

The info on this page says that it has picture ID. Maybe I'm just an incompetent user (and very new to Nokias) but I cannot find the option to add a picture ID for a caller.

lately i have noticed that image store keeps downloading duplicates of my images from the phone...its nice that it automatically downloads new pics whenever i conect the phone but now it is real irritating when it starts downloading the same images over and over again...i wonder if it had anything to do w/ me upgrading to PC suite 6.80.20?

Has anybody been able to pair a 6682 with a new(er) BMW? It worked fine once. Now, I can get it to pair and I can dial from the car, but no sound comes through the car speakers. What gives?

I saw an ad for the 6682, showing off its camera, on the side of a muni *BUS* in downtown San Francisco!! how cool is that? i am also seeing this phone as a "demo" on a lot of commericals sites for phone apps, and in magazines... everyone who sees my phone loves it... this was definitely the best choice i've made for a cell phone... ever!

don't really like the nokia one.. for some reason they took away the copy function!

i want to be able to make a reminder to call someone, and copy that number and use it to dial.

I noticed 02fx4dude in their review said they solved this problem...

which program did you use, and how much was it?

Can I use 6682 as a wireless client? I would like to connect my desktop computer to my wireless access point (54Mbps 802.11G) that is connected to my Tivo.

My desktop has no 802.11 client to talk over wireless at this point. I know I can pick up a $30 USB, but maybe this phone can do it for me.

Your input is much appreciated.

Okay so Nokia is selling the Nokia 6682 for free with a 2 year contract with cingular... is this because its gonna cause all the problems that ive been reading about (white screening, deleting call log, freezing) or have they fixed these problems? Ultimately, should i get the phone from Nokia.com or not?

and one other question... my mother already bought a phone through cingular and is on a plan with my dad... if i get a family plan with the 6682, will they be able to join or will they have to pay some sort of fee? i dont know if any of you know about this but if you do, please respond. Thanks
