Sony Ericsson S710a

I'm guessing it will hit stores in about 2 weeks. Does anyone know if Cingular will have new plans in February?

I'm in San Antonio Tx and today Jan 6th I went into a cingular location to pay a bill after i found out that i couldnt pay it there i asked about the s710a the guy told me to my surprise that they would have it in on Monday Jan 10th. He told me that the order was placed and thats when they where expecting it. That was if there where no back order delays. I've been on this site reading about this phone and others since like Sept/Nov. so i'm not trying to start anything just passing on what i was told. I wouldnt take it as gold but i thought i would at least pass it on.

I found this site randomly while searching for other things, it has alot of free poly ringtones, and when I say free, I mean free, not "free".

The only thing that sucks about the site is that you have to download the ringtones through your WAP browser. So, if anyone's interested, here's the link...

I was looking at some photos of the phone in various forms - and was curious about something. When someone calls and you are talking, does the keypad have to be open? Judging from this photo:

the keypad looks to have the mic at the bottom, so can you use it with the phone closed where it would seem to be a bit more 'normal' sized?

I often go to gsmarena.com and look at different phones out of boredum. I decided to take a peak at the S710 as I usually do and they updated the status of it from Coming Soon to Available. Does this mean the phone has been released, just not through Cingular yet? It could be possible. Check it out for yourselves.

If I start brand new Cingular service, how much will this phone cost?

Oh and I heard after a month or two the swing part of the phone breaks, please tell me this is not true.

Sony uggraded there website on their phone as they did just before the launch of the z500a...there is now an exclusive website dedicated to the launch of the s710a and i suggest going there it gave me a lot to think about. Now what I am really thinking about is saving money to get it sooner rather than later lol. It shows the video record functionality as well as the quality of photos and gives u the difference between its photos as well as a standard vga. It shows how the memory stick duo works and as always you get to test the phone. I purchased the z500 to get a feel for sony ericsson before getting this phone(i know kind of a waste of money) but i am so far very pleased with sony. I suggest taking a look at the ugraded website. I really wanna get this phone and im waiting on it but before i buy it does anyone think sony ericsson sux or is this phone a smartphone? cus it doesnt say it is and if it is screw it i dont want it. The helpe is appreciated thanks!

I have internet on my Sony Ericsson T616 phone, but I am planning on getting the new Sony Ericsson S710a that has edge. Will edge cost more monthly then my current internet? Thanks

From what I've read, the phone is only WAP 2.0 enabled, are there any ways of maybe downloading an xHtml browser for the phone, or is WAP good enough?

If you still can wait for a few months, you better wait to get world's # 1 phone, which is Samsung's SCH-S250 phone released in Korean market last November. This is world's first 5 mega pixel phone. I really wanted to get this phone unlocked and use it with my T-Mobile service. Are these technical problems I hear about with the Cingular versions of these phones or could I still get one unlocked and be ok? Thanks in advance for any advice.

I played around with an S700, obviously just about the same thing as the S710. All I got to say is, God couldnt make a better phone! This is by far the best (in my opinion) Sony Ericsson I've ever held in my hands. I was considering a P910, but it completely blows the P910 away. I really don't like the Symbian OS deal, P910 has no Megapixel camera, and the P910, plain and simple, no longer appeals to me after handling the S700.

I just hope they release the S710 soon. I'm really anxious to get my greedy little hands on it! 😁

I emailed Sony Ericsson yesterday (December 23). They replied to my email today (December 24). I asked them when the Sony Ericsson S710a phone will be available in the United States, and asked if there has been a delay. Here is the response I got back from them
