Sony Ericsson S710a

is the fact that it can only hold a 128mb stick of memory. Why make such a nice phone and then screw it by using the stick with limitations. It just makes me mad. I wanted this phone so bad, just like I wanted the MPX220. Then I find out that the megapixel camera in the mpx is less than vga quality, it freezes, and the sound was horrible. So, I wait for the next best thing. The S710 was to be my saviour, now this crap with the 128mb. Now I might as well wait for WCDMA/UMTS phones. Another thing bad with the s710 is the video mode. It's horrible, choppy. And forget about carrying cases, NAAAASTY.

people seem to foget this one little thing- yes the d500 may be better. 😈 ok. well some of use hav the or use the "un-cool" 850 gsm band. what is a good phone that would giv the sony s710a some competition? quad band or the 850 spectrum. if some one could answer me on this. since their seems to be lote or people who know whats up. 😳

if this phone will have bugs when it comes out i will be extremely dissapointed and any sony e or cingular representative i see i will knokem the f out. I mean if there are minor bugs which do not concern more than 85% of the buyers then fine you can fix it in the next model but if it has bugs such as with the camera/calling/or sim cards ill be pissed. 👿

😁 i was talking to a few agents yesterday. they Apparently hav a contest starting or already in a contest. and guess what phone their competing for? thats right the s710a.last couple of months they were all winning the v3 razors.cingular already has the price list for the Accessories for this model. so i hope this is a good sign. sorry i still could not find the estimate of the price.
but rumor has it its not as much as a v3. hopfully its not.

i just came back from CES and Sony had this phone out. I noteced no problems with this unit, and it was no larger then my SE Z600......and yes it had the cingular software 😉 .

some ppl say the 10th... some 12th... some 14-15.. some 20th.. some feb... 1 summer.... im confused... does anyone kno wich wich rumor is closest to real?

At first, it thought this phone was it. Now, i regret to say that, i no longer feel that way. I was immediately turned off when my training on this phone through work said that the highest MemStick Duo it would be able to support is 128MB! So forget throwing away my ipod... On that note, I just gave up an bought the mpx220, which I immediately returned inform all of my customer not to buy. Even if the phone supported a high memstick, I wouldnt even want it because they are so expensive. I JUST WANT A PHONE THAT DOES EVERYTHING... AM I ASKING TOO MUCH?

I work for Cingular and I'm telling you, DO NOT BUY THIS PHONE....it freezes allot, software looks like there is a bug. they had us re test this phone alot of ***times but keeps freezing ( slow transfer from screen to another)...Don't ask me about the release date, god knows when..this company has spent alot of money on commercials and still not sure which phones and when to launch. alot of phones already listed!!!! I have the flip phone motorola v620, 256k colors, vga camera an many more features from Cost co for $299.99 with no contract and if you don't like the phone for any reason, you get your money back, 100% satisfaction guaranteed.. :-)

My wife says I'm sad for stressing over this phone, but I never really believed it until now. I went to SonyEricsson.com and under products, the "Coming Soon" banner is gone from below the S710a. When I saw it, I literally gasped out loud, I don't know why, just did. Doesn't really mean much, just thought I'd share.

Interestingly, the S700i still has coming soon.

Looks like the tenth is out of the question.. Lets move on to the next assumtion shall we..

The s710a still doesnt have cingular approval. It might get it this week. So unfortunately it probably will not be out till the last week of the month or beginning of Feb. 😡
I suggest you check out Howard Forums under the cingular section.

All stores in my area are putting up posters for the phone...and they dont say can only buy online.

TOday I called Cincular's Sales Department wondering asking them why they had the S710a Phones Ringtones and not the phone and they said to expect around the end of the month. This was like a supervisor.

I remember my local Cingular stores had the z500 dummy for a month before that phone came out, and they still don't have the 710 dummy. I'm wondering if this is a bad sign...not to mention the fact that NOBODY has a clue as to a release date. I've been told it's not even on the price sheets yet.

cingular not only has this phone on the rington page as previously stated but now the ringtones r all available for it it as well as game...im thinking if u check the cingular site monday or tuesday this phone will be available for sale!! 🙂

does ne one know about the contest, do you need the 500 points to win, or do u have to place w. in your market?

This is in addition to what i wrote earlier today. The price I was givin was $400 with a 2 year contract and that might be $399 but the guy said $400. And i just read some of the other post and there was mention of a contest starting on Jan 10th. So this would co-inside with the information he told me about the phone being available on Monday Jan 10th. Assuming no shipping delays.

For all you complaining about unreliable sources, cnet has a video of the phone saying that it should be "available at the END OF JANUARY from Cingular Wireless for $399". And this is from the CES show.
