At first, it thought this phone was it. Now, i regret to say that, i no longer feel that way. I was immediately turned off when my training on this phone through work said that the highest MemStick Duo it would be able to support is 128MB! So forget throwing away my ipod... On that note, I just gave up an bought the mpx220, which I immediately returned inform all of my customer not to buy. Even if the phone supported a high memstick, I wouldnt even want it because they are so expensive. I JUST WANT A PHONE THAT DOES EVERYTHING... AM I ASKING TOO MUCH?

To my knowledge the 128 MemStick Duo is the largest one out, that is why that is all it will support. Unfortunately it will not be able to work with the pro series

Memory stick duo pro has sizes up to 1gb, unfortunetly the s700 nor s710 support the pro. However you can get a sony v800 which does have support for it but the phone is freaking expensive as hell.

Yeah, the biggest is 1 GB but it's like $350, that's as much as the freakin' phone. I cant speak for everyone, but for me, the phones internal memory plus 128 mb is more than enough for me. Plua you never know, it may turn out to support the 1GB.

A phone that does everything is asking alot, but can't think of anything right off hand that my Nokia 6620 can't do..and yes it supports the 1GB MMC..I know this because I have one..it also has 12MB of internal memory..I also have a 256MB that I picked up for $28..those prices are just hard to beat, and so is this phone..128MB for the S710A just isnt going to be enough memory if you want to store lots of mp3's like I do..I posted last month that I was guessing this phone to be out in March at the earliest (ask NotJoesShapiro he will back that up lol) and I am still sticking to that..rule of thumb is a phone usually available approx. 3 months after approval from FCC so it remains to be seen..I personally wish all you guys who have been waitin...

since a) the sony site no longer says comming soon,
b) people in the store had their training with it, they say a few weeks,
c) with a planned release in decmeber, there cannot be much left to do to it,
and d) the guy who said he worked at the warehouse and said they'd be getting them on the 14th,

im still betting this month. as the end of the month approaches, im gonna pick up a cingular plan with the v551 as a temp cause there are rumors of them killing the unlimited data plans.

So does that mean buying a new phone, returning it, but keeping the contract??

Is there any chance that the new plans could be better plans?

There is a 30 day satisfaction garuntee, if you quit the plan in the first 30 days they charge you for what you used and i think you return the phone. I think im gonna get my contract in like the last week of January, then if new plans come in Feb that are better i can just opt for one of those.

Good call with that strategy... I'm an indirect dealer, but just had a converstion with my Cingular rep yesterday, and they haven't decided yet whether to get rid of the unlimited or not. That being said, they have decided, definately, that both media works packages will go up on their MRC at the end of the month. Get a contract now, worst case scenario, you tack on an extra month or two to your contract if they wait 'til march to release the new plans. And word on our street is you will definately want to be on the new ones.

PS. Nothing concrete from my rep on a release date, either. "Within the month" is what he told me he heard. You can take that with about as much faith as I did.
