Sony Ericsson S710a

From what I've heard several others say, looks like on or about the 14th of Jan.

How sure are you of the 14th? I really, really, really hope it comes out then because I got the mpx220 and have had a lot of issues with it and would really prefer an s710a, but my 30-day thing is up the 16th. I hope, hope, hope it comes out the 14th!!! And also, I'm really surprised that Samsung is saying the cell with 5mp and optical zoom is coming out this year. A lot faster than I thought it would. Maybe the US is finally catching up to Japan and Korea!!

If it happens, great but it seems pretty unlikely. I'd say more likely to happen sometime next year at the earliest. Anyone with gadgets at CES make claims about when the public will see them (see Phantom Game Console as an example).

Needless to say, i'm not holding my breath.

there's a sales contest on the s710a that ends in March...usually when there are sales contests the reps will get their prize phones slightly before or right around the release dates. Might be a little while.

i dont think well be getting closer to Japan anytime soon. I mean as soon as well get the 5Megapixel phone next year theyll prob have one thats 8 mega. But I agree with you if that phone does come out at least we will be progressing faster then we used to

the contest starts on the tenth, so that looks to be the earliest it would come out.

One of the ways they get points is by selling the S710A, which is worth 100 points. I'm not trying to start an argument, or discredit anything you say. I'm just wondering how they can sell something, and get the points for a phone that will not be released until the contest is over? I completely understand that you used words like "usually", "Might", and that you’re not saying it as if it is written in stone. I'm just being hopeful.

I know. I'm just keeping my fingers and toes crossed. I've been without a phone since the 16th of Dec and I've been waiting on this one to come out.

You get points in that contest for selling the S710- it won't be released when the contest is over- probably closer to when it starts

How many times does this obviously dated information have to be posted?

The same amount of times people refuse to search the forum to see if someone already made the post .

It pretty much happens like this (I think). Some guy or girl hears some extremely dated news and they get all giddy, so they rush to the computer, log online to phonecoop.com to tell EVERYBODY about the great (but old) news they just discovered. At the same time they are thinking nobody else could have possibly heard the news yet but them, so everyone will be huddling around their post asking them questions about where they saw, what the link is, and make them feel like they're winning a popularity contest or something.

At least thats what I think...... 🙄
