LG VX-8000

I was on mobile web last night, riding on my way home on a NJ Transit train to New Brunswick, NJ. I was typing someone an e-mail and then the phone just turned off and re-booted. It happened twice on my trip. Does this happen often?

Does anyone know whether you can prevent the phone earpiece from making a sound during a call when pressing the ear piece volumne up or down....I get the tone noise when I lower or raise the volume in the earpiece, it is really annoying...thx

i downloaded a total of 8 pics from my computer to the phone from vzwpix.com , only 2 showed up????? the size of the pics were 130x130, there was a few that were 480x640,and 240x320 and these didnt show up??? is ther a size limit to what will show up on the 8000 and if so whats the max size???

My problem is that I sent a cropped pic to the camera to use as wallpaper, but the pic does not fill-up the entire screen (my pic is not wide enough). I know that the size of the default wallpapers is 120 x 160 resolution. I have tried using iPhoto to increase the width of the pic and resent it to my phone, but it remains the same size.

Does anyone know how to resize my pic to fill-up the entire main screen as wallpaper? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Went to casino in middle of state(Michigan) where VZW claims to have coverage there,but i found out in the past my phone would go into roam,no big deal at least i knew it worked.We went there other day for 2 days of gambling and found that now in town no service at all,no roam no nothing.Went 3 miles out of town got signal and forwarded my # to my wifes t- mobile.Got back yesterday, called VZW and they said they are making it so your phone doesnt go into roam,because of to many complaints from people about roam charges on there bill. that is why they are advertising about no roam charges on americas choice plans,the phone wont roam and when it dont roam you dont have service..One thing nice about the 8000 is for the service alert it speaks t...

After my trip up north to the casino we go to about 4 times a year and the phone always roamed buy worked and this trip it said loss of service,when i called to complain the woman said my plan shouldn't have changed it but it did. She said she took restrictions off so there should not be any more problems. I will find out because i want the roaming feature in case of emergency on road or from a loved one.

In response to your question is,when i went in to buy 8000 i wasnt ready for the get a new phone every two yrs,they told me to wait but i waited for this phone for 8 months and i wanted it now.So signed new 2 yr and they knocked off 30 dollars (whoopee) walked out with phone-case and tax-402.00 dollars and ive been with vzw for almost 5 yrs. Didnt know about the roaming issue until we went on our 2 day gambling spree. Called vzw when we got back and the woman said she made adjustments in my account so it wouldn't happen again,so i guess ill have to wait and find out next time we go out of town.

Hi I just got a cable from Radio shack, the Futuredial for the vx6000 I think it should work for my vx8000, I'm trying to download the usb drivers for it and they won't install, any suggestions, then, how do I get songs from my PC to my tunes folder?

I recorded all my voice dails and today went to retrieve a voicemail. I had my headset on and hit the button on the side with the flip closed. I could hear it prompt me through the headset and I asked for "voicemail" --- it beeped like it didn't recognize the command and asked again. It worked fine if I didn't use the headset.

I tried this with two seperate headsets (in case one wasn't working) and it didn't connect with either headset.

Has anyone else noticed this or do I have re-record all my voice dials using the headset? If that's the case, will it recognize voice dial commands when I don't use the headset?

This afternoon VZW sent me a text message asking me to sign up for 2 free months of VCAST and the phone number I should call if I feel inclined to take this offer. Has anyone else recieved such an ad? Or is this the start of a new trend of sending advertisements to cell phone users?? 👿 😡 👿

Ok, I used to send my ringtones to myself using vzwpix... but now it says filesize must be 30 kb... Anyone have a way around this?

Does anyone know how or where I can get the information on how to use the data cable to allow my laptop to get the internet? I have used it for transfering data between the phone and the PC, but would like to try the phone out some more! Thanks.

anyone know where i can get bitpim at? i tried downloading it at the bitpim site but it won't let me download the exe and it only lets me download the dmg files but i dont know how to open those. if someone can upload it for me to a site or know of any other place to download it please let me know, thanks

Whats the Max ring-tones somebody put on there 8000 keeping the tone under 30 seconds. I was able to put 15 on the 6000

Hi, I have a quick question I just saw on a site that someone wrote this abt Get It Now I guess to change the applications on your phone Im guessing or atleast thats what I get out of it but what do they mean this is what they wrote....

To change Get-it-Now application servers:

1. enter the VX8000 service menu
2. select #9 "get it now settings"
3. select #3 "IP/URL"
4. select the server you want and hit the left soft key to give it priority.

What do they mean by this and how do you do it I know how to get there cuz i had to go into the vx7000 phone manually to changet the number but wants you get to all that stuff after entering the code how so u change the get it now stuff to get more applications on your phone if thats even wha...

Is it necessary to convert MP3 files to MIDI to use them as ringtones? If so, does anyone know of a program to do so. Thx

Open up BitPim and go to file systems make sure your phone is connected to you data cable. The little "+" symbol on the upper left corner call tree. Click on that and then follow these instructions. Good Luck!

This is using BitPim, and pretty much any of the latest versions will work. I’ve been successful using COM 1 and COM5, it just matters how your computer saves the driver. Enjoy!

*Take a certain picture of whatever

*Save it, then use BitPim.

*Go to the “dload” tree

*Then open the “img” tree

*Then find that picture you just took, and right click on that file.

*Select “overwrite” and replace it with the picture you want.

I have been very happy with the vx8000 up until tonite. I went to use my camera as usual, but the zoom is on max and i cannot increase or decrease it all with the side button as usual. This holds for both the still and video camera. It is stuck in the zoomed position. Any ideas anyone? Verizon is of no help of course, other than telling me to bring the phone in tomorrow. I'm sure I'll have to exchange it, but that will be such a pain, as I have a lot of pix, tunes, messages, etc in the phone already. So any help would be appreciated.
