I was on mobile web last night, riding on my way home on a NJ Transit train to New Brunswick, NJ. I was typing someone an e-mail and then the phone just turned off and re-booted. It happened twice on my trip. Does this happen often?

Thank You.

goto howardforums.com, there are all kinds of reports of the phone shutting down on it own, but mainly when it is charging with the power on...check that site out.

Was your phone "searching for service" at the time when it rebooted? That happened to me this morning, I was playing a game on the phone in a place where I had no service... and the phone rebooted. Maybe it does it after seraching for a signal for too long... i dont know

most people that I have read about having the problem was the one's that leave their phone on all the time and when they recharge the battery, the phone shuts itself off and they have to remove the battery to get it to turn on again, I have read that some people have had it happen to them while they are talking. Don't know all the details, but, just the fact that it was doing it was enough for me to get the 7000 instead, so far it has worked great, no problems. I would love to have the 8000 for the speaker phone, but, I don't want to take a chance of it acting up.

I had the phone tested and they said that the phone is fine. They advised me not to leave the phone on all the time and to take the battery out and re-boot it once a day. It's like when you leave your computer on too long, it will reboot itself eventually.

If I shut the phone off while I sleep, I should be fine.

The one tech told me not to have the phone charging while it's on. I don't believe that one. Has anybody heard this?

Personally I don't think its a problem or a glitch. It happens when your phone has absolutely no signal. Searching for signal takes up battery, like as much as playing a game on your cell. The cell initiates its 'Enhanced Power Save' feature and not only saves you your cell from dying but can be very useful in times of emergency use.

try that, you will have to look up lg 8000, I see there are mixed reviews on it, but, just the fact that they shut off on their own makes me nervous, I seen somewhere in there that LG is coming out with a newer version of the 8000 to fix the problems it has. It is kind of like everything, when it first comes out, there could be bugs that have to be worked out of it. I like to wait a little bit before getting something when it first comes out.

there are happy people with the 8000, some have not had any problems, so, I cant say it is a bad phone or not. I have the 7000, and I like the phone, works good, the only thing 8000 has that I would like is a speakerphone.

Hope this helps, I know it is very conf...

Mine 8000 did it once...

But my old Audiovox used to do it too. I think it's just a software reboot. Remember, these are all computers now a days.
