Very old AT&T Blue SIM card ---- Help me AT&T Employees!

I have a very old AT&T Blue SIM card and plan. I get 850 minutes per month with 7pm night and weekends for $32 + tax.

I really want to keep my current plan! Can I just add a $30 unlimited data plan to my account and activate the SIM card that will come with the 3G iPhone?

Or will they say I need to sign up with a new plan? I don't mind the 2 year agreement ... I just don't want to lose my current plan!

Please help!

App Store

Question: If you don't buy thru the app store and you go somewhere else, what happens to warranty if there is a problem with phone? Will Apple void it? A lot of 3rd party apps are starting to pop up.

Negative Consequences for Jailbreaking?

Does jailbreaking your iphone somehow preclude from using ’official’ apps or updates? For example, if I get an iphone 3G and jailbreak it, when its time to do a firmwear update, connect to itunes or try and get something on the Apps Store I wont, not be able to, because of some kind of ‘Error this is not an officially recognized unit because I f’ed with it’ message; will I? I realize it might be to early to answer, the 3g iphone isn’t even out yet of course, but did anyone have any troubles of that sort with their generation 1 iphone? Really I want to have my cake and eat it to. To use the iphone and all the ’official’ things it can do, but still add all the cool little jailbroken stuff too.

so darn close

man, the iPhone + MobileME + App Store is so darn close to what I want.

but not quite.

for it to be right it must:

1. talk to external keyboards
2. drive (moderately) high res external displays
(these could largely satisfied with a docking station or even better wireless docking station)
3. have ~64GB storage (32 would be ok)
4. have a MicroSD slot (or similar).
5. remote app storage with load on demand (to conserve local storage space)
6. on demand transparent remote application execution (for computationally expensive operations, apps would need to be expressly developed to operate this way)

at that point, I could ditch my laptop and just have the iPhone be my whole life.

5 & 6 are just software, 1 coul...

UNLOCKING QUESTION AND 2ND LINE QUESTION

do yall think its a lie that this phone will not be able to be unlocked being as this phone takes a sim card cause wouldnt that also mean if i was to get this phone and it gets activated and i decide nah i dont want it and decide to give it to somebody else they wouldnt be able to just slide there sim card in and use it because it was activated on my account? cause that would pretty much be the same as using it then stopping and unlocking it either way its not on the account it was originally activated for so whats the difference really in just having it activated but still unlocking it and just sliding in another sim im pretty sure some iphones before were already in use when unlocked

2nd question if i want to add a second line...

Would like to ask the persons that work for ATT Corporate Stores to please post the details about the sale of the IPhone 3g on July 11th. I went to the store today here in Miami FL and they dont know how many Iphones they will be receiving and have no details. They are expecting people to sleep over in front of the store---just like Best Buy on Black Friday ( day after Thanksgiving!!) I would imagine that there are different tier stores getting a different amount of phones depending of the store's sales volume...Please Enlighten Me if you know, any info is appreciated....THANK YOU GUYS !!!

is it going to be as crazy as when the first iPhone came out?

So I'd like some input on this,
do you guys think att & apple stores are going to be as crazy as when the first gen iPhone came out,
what i mean by this is will there be people camping out for a week straight to get there hands on one?

Personally I don't see why people would do that- its only an update, nothing that new or revolutionary on this one.

Pretty sure I'm getting one..but will I take a week off of work to camp out at the local att store...or will I even wait in line for hours? No. I can wait an extra week..like I did last June.

Oh heres another question, a little off topic- but the iPod touch is priced at 300$ for the 8gb version. The new iPhone is priced at 200$..equipped with 8gb. SO I'm going to guess theres going ...

screen question

i dont know to much about screens, but did apple buy the rights to all thermal/electrostatic screens? or is there a problem with them and no one else wants to use them. everyone loves the screen and how it works on the iphone, so i figured if its so good why dont more companies use it.

(im not being sarcastic, i think the screen works great, its a serious question)

iPhone for T-Mobile/Verizon?

A guy that works for T-Mobile told me yesterday that the new 3G iPhone will be sold by T-Mobile and Verizon within 4 months.
He said that the monopoly ATT has is not legal and his company rep told him Apple will have to let them sell the phone and ATT only has a 4 month exclusive.

I know the guy and "asume" the info is correct. Does anyone have any info about this? Could it be true?

I am 99% sure I will leave Verizon in order to get this phone but if this info is correct, I may stay with Verizon (contract).

Thanks for any info and help

Apple vs. RIM

So it seems to me like the iPhone 3G is basically Apple trying to get into the true Business Class device. Most of the RIM and iPhone 3G capabilities are similar, only the packaging is different- and with the mandatory data pack up to $30.00 a pop- the price point for the service is very similar as well. We'll just have to see if iPhone email push is as good as RIM's has been.

I, for one, am prepared for an old fashioned show-down in the smartphone world. (P.S. I'm hoping that Microsoft loses in a big way while these two giants fight it out.)

What are the real differences between an iPhone and a late-model Blackberry? Here are my thoughts:

RIM advantages:
1: Super-fast secure email delivery
2: Wide portfolio of capable devices...

Stereo Bluetooth

😲

Have they overlooked this again? What is the point of having a phone with curring edge technology, if you still must have a wire running from your pocket to your ears if you want to listen to music!

Everyone else is able to incorporate stereo blue tooth! What is the hold up?
