Launch Announcement...
I have solid evidence that the S710 will be released on 2/21/05... Not sure when they will be received in stores but Cingular has launched it... Anybody with CSP access will see the launch announcement.
On another note... Has anyone who won the phone is the S.E. contest found out when the phones will be shipped to winners???

Ok, it is time to show the Frog exactly how he is wrong.
First, Verizon isn't playing catch up to anyone. Verizon sets the bar that Cingular is trying to raise. Go listen to the Cingular commercials again kingy....listen for the part where the narator says "Cingular is raisig the bar by "STRIVING TO HAVE"(not already has, but working towards) America's best wireless network.
Ok, now for the business stuff. First, VZW has the most cash flow(note: this is the stuff AFTER the bills are paid) of all the wireless carriers. Hrmmm, ok we also have the recognized(not just by us, but by the industry, media, ad nausea) best network in the U.S. cellular industry. Ok, so we have the most cash, and the best network. VZW is also the first carrier with TRUE 3G technology implemented and in market. Say what you want but no other carrier has it out plain and simple. Where do you think the funding for this came from? Oh, I know, the companies arrogant attitude towards its customers. VZW charges them so much so they can be evil and deliver the newest technology on the market to them first. THOSE BAS*&^$!
You are so full of your own crap you even went onto the whoaisme thread over on the Cingular forum about how the reps think the new price plans suck thread and posted that Cingular is being arrogant for raising their prices to be more in line with VZW and that you would go to T-Mobile if it continued. You seriously do not get it, do you? Cingular posted a LOSS this last quarter even though they had a fantastic showing(btw, this is all directed at kingy. I like the competition from Cingular and think it is great). Why do you think this is? Cingular execs, I am betting, are looking at the business model that VZW has and is modifying their structure to put more money into their pocketbook to do the things VZW is doing.
I can't wait to see what this year will bring. I think it is going to be a great year in the industry just because these 2 companies are going to be going head to head.

Nope, no unlimited with Cingular, it's only in Canada. All the Canadian carriers (or maybe it's just Rogers and Bell) are offering unlimited minutes for 1 year. I wish I was in the U.S. though, because I'd rather be a customer of Cingular than Rogers. I'm sure Cingular's GSM network is better than Rogers' GSM in my area (I've heard Rogers is kind of crappy here) and you make a good point, I definitely won't need unlimited minutes with the amount I would (not) be using my phone. But alas, unless Cingular comes to Canada, I can't be a customer, even though they pay my wages.
Note to rabid Rogers fans: I am not trying to start a massive flame war. :wink:
