I want to join USCC, but there'e not ONE phone that I like. Almost all USCC phones have a second button down the left hand side ( usually voice-memo button ) which drives me crazy. That's where my FINGERS rest !!! Actually, that's where my thumb rests as I hold it with my left hand. So, since today's group of cell-phone engineers are unable to manufacture a phone w/o annoying outside buttons, my question is this. Could I join USCC today, use my old phone from last time I was with USCC, and then get my discount off of some FUTURE phone - when mankind can actually invent a phone w/o side-buttons? I'm keeping a waiting eye on it's replacement - the v815. But it'll be a LONG time before USCC has the v815 for sale.

You never know. USCC and Alltel might get a E815 variant sans EV-DO that has the improved keypad, etc. Sort of a refresh, like the v60c>v60i.

Get a "hands free head set" that way you don't have a problem.

They make them different styles so you can choose one that is best for you.

As far as the phone that you currently have... YES, you can use it with USCC as long as is a USCC or Primeco phone. BUT NO, you can't get the discount later on with another phone. Those discounts are only good with a new contract and at the point of sale.
