Canadian citizen signing up for verizon? How do you process this?
by llama    Dec 3, 2008, 7:50 PM
in the Verizon forum

I've done 2 acts with Canadians. The Sales Rep should complete a standard application in e*ROES or netACE using the customer's US Social Security number (SSN), address and contact information (See Canadian Credit Applications: Customer Requirements). Note: The Canadian Social Insurance number should not be used. If the customer does not have a valid US SSN, the placeholder SSN 123-45-6789 should be entered. The Sales Rep should ask the customer for the following information: The Social Insurance number The Canadian address The Sales Rep should call the Credit department to request that a Canadian credit check be performed. If the customer decides to complete activation once the Sales Rep relays the credit decision and they do not choose a password, add last four digits of the Canadian SIN as the password to VISION account. Advise the customer this will be their password to access My Verizon, the payment IVR, the FAC IVR or speak to a live rep about their account.

Customers who wish to have a Canadian credit check performed, must meet the following criteria: Have a US residence, including street address. No Post Office Boxes will be accepted. Provide their Canadian Social Insurance number Provide their Canadian photo ID. Provide Canadian address Note: It is the responsibility of the Sales rep to verify the identification (See Canadian Credit Applications: How to Process for Sales Reps). Sales does not have to fax the ID into the Credit Review department.

i love telling peopel that they have a big deposit based on credit and i give the analogy that if they had 2 cousinsand both borrowed money and one paid on time and the other took for ever to pay, who would you lend money to with no problem? and then i ask what about the other cousin who couldn't pay. well that's how credit works. I really want to tell them you gave yourself the bad credit reating, it's not my fault you can't pay stuff of.
