Samsung Omnia i910
Traded in Storm for Omnia
I just traded in my Storm for an Omnia. I couldnt deal with the Storm anymore. The Omnia has so much more going for it including wifi ontop of Win mobile that allows me to make my Omnia an access point for my laptop without paying for the extra data plan tethering. The only downside to the Omnia is a less favorable screen. Otherwise performance and reliability are top notch. Best WInMobile phone ever!!!

PS, I got the Omnia for $199 and was also given a $70 rebate form. Not sure why but I guess I will mail it in and the end cost will be $129. I thought it was supposed to be $199 after the 70 rebate?? Oh well.

I did the same thing. I didn't like the Storms click touch screen. I had a Perl and like it a lot, but I wanted a full touch screen. I tested out the 3G iPhone and really loved the phone, just was not impressed with the Network (Plus I didn't want to pay Early Term Fee). I got the storm on the release date and used it for about a week. Never got use to the click screen.
I returned the storm yesterday and picked up this phone. I really like this phone so far. Just a little worried about the Battery Life. Does not seem to last long at all. Anyone else have this issue???

Yes they are in the stores now (well in my area Northern Va).
I just put a Video on it and it looks good. The storm did look better though. One thing I did notice was that it is choppy from the SD card. Copying to the internal and checking. I will update on this.

The storm definitely has a nicer screen, but I can't buy a phone based solely on screen performance. Take the iPhone for instance. Great screen, great phone, horrible network. Whats important to me is Network first, Functionality second (actually being able to navigate and use the phone efficiently). The Storm has the network, but is half baked on functionality. The Omnia has both.
The Omnia, while not the best screen out, does have a really nice wide screen thats very usable. Its bigger and better than all the WinMobile phones out there except for the Touch and Touch pro (Both Touch's have horrible battery life).
The storm is a great phone if you dont need to compose or reply to emails. Typing is horrible.

I work for VZW, and started playing with this device immediately upon finding them in the shipment last week. I like it better than the storm:
better camrea, awesome panorama shot, optical mouse pointer option, widgets, accuarcy, wifi, radio, and smart reader business card reader, and size
the storm has some bugs, but there will be software fixes, so i'm not considering those. I like the clickability of the storm screen that some folks find annoying. for me it's cool to highlight some things first to make sure you've selected the right thing.
I love the opera browser, the tab to hide/bring up the fields is great way to mazimize use of the screen so its not constantly cluttered.

I got mine at the VZW store near Potomac Mills Mall. But I called Verizon Experience at the Fair Oaks Mall and they had some in stock also (that was on monday).

I also swapped the Storm for the Omnia. I hope I can get used to it. YOu definitely need to use the stylus. I have a couple of issues with it. The FM does not work. Also, when I use the Samsung Keyboard, and I go from letters to numbers, I can not go back to letters again, in fact, that choice is grayed out.

ALso, you can not use ANY headset on this phone without the adapter. I thought it had a native 2.5 headset jack, but there is no jack at all, just an adapter that goes into the power jack..very odd.

You have to use the jack and a set of head phones tht will act as the antenna. I watched the video and it explanes al lot of things about the phone.

U r right, I finally figured it out. There are two attachments that will hold an ear phone, only the 3.5 attachment works for the radio.

You can use qwerty in landscape and portrait mode. Just click the little arrow next to the icon that makes the keyboard pop up and the choices(qwerty, 2 per key, and phonepad) are all there.

Have you tried to use the keyboard? It is nearly impossible by hand. The Samsung keyboard is the easiest but I could not get it to back to text once I switched to numbers. With the stylus it is much easier to raise and lower the keyboard.
The problem that I think will bother me over the long run is accessing my contacts. It is too difficult to scroll, and attempting to scroll results too often in calling the wrong number. Fortunately, the numbers that I call the most can be set up as a speed dial
