Re: Carriers Forum change up

Yes. I update the rankings as quarterly numbers come out. Sprint CDMA: 25.1m T-Mobile: 25.0m Sprint iDEN: 16.5m Please note: Sprint just issued their Q1 numbers. T-Mobile hasn't issued theirs yet, so when those numbers do come out it may change the ranking again, since it's so close.I count "PowerSource" customers (hybrid CDMA + iDEN) together with Sprint CDMA. I think that makes the most sense for a number of reasons, even though it's handled through the Nextel brand at the moment. The order of the carriers is NOT intended to be some kind of official 1-2-3 ranking. It's purely for the sake of having the Tier 1 carriers listed first, since your average visitor is statistically more likely to be looking for one of those in any list of carriers.

sorry, i forgot to mention. the PTT service got exposed because nextel got wind of the mototola v60p the simple fact of the matter is the reason for the policy is that verizon would rather you buy one of the current phones NOW then get a yet to be released phone LATER. verizon doesn't gain anything financially by releasing the info. think about it like this. say the iphone is as popular as cingular is hoping. how many people, new and existing customers alike are WAITING to buy it as opposed to buying something now. cingular may benefit from the general buzz for the phone in the end, but it didn't help them in the 1st quarter. Note: this isn't a bust on cingular, i'm just using this as an example.

I actually have to turn the volume down to keep it from being too loud! Sound quality seems a step above other phones that I have tried. Note that the antenna is at the bottom of the phone, so it is best to hold this phone in the middle when it is open. But even though I keep forgetting this, reception hasn't been a problem.

Re: Revenue/Morale Must Be Low At Verizon...

I know this is really late, but this thread had so much bad info in it I needed to post. The test drive isnt giving away service free for a month. The way it works, is if a new customer ports their number out in the first 30 days and returns the equipment to the store, the activation fee, early term fee, monthly access for the calling plan and any overage from going over the calling plan allowance are not charged to the customer. And the part about the free choc phone, that was from inphonic (also known as wirefly) was not from VZW. and now that first quarter numbers have been reported, you can see that the test drive is probably working as VZW had almost double the retail adds of AT&T. (note, the term retail for quarterly reportings is not refering to customers signed up in retail stores as several people have suggested, it refers to direct customers [not resellers], so it is refering to customers that are directly customers of the carrier, not using an MNVO)

primus said: if you think that GSM motos dont have tons of problems, maybe you should spend more time reading the AT&T forum instead of trolling here posting lies/misinformation/useless information. There have been many posts in the AT&T forum over the last year from AT&T/Cingular employees saying they wished AT&T/cingular would stop carring motos. chocolateman85006 said: Amen, brotha! As a Cingy XBM rep, People call more about the original V3 Razr than anything else!! Ah, thought so. Moto has issues in both CDMA and GSM. Note to self: Stop believing anything BeachSlapped says.
