bluetooth connection

i bought a stereo, the pioneer 7900bt and it allows me to connect a phone through bluetooth, extract the phone book and be able to make phone calls through the cd player using a lil wired microphone. anyway, all other devices show up on it except for my verizon xv6700. none of all the other devices are verizon, but their not pocketpc either. however, someone told me it wont connect because verizon bluetooth is limited and is only meant for headsets and not data sharing, something that i had been told before by a verizon worker. my question is, 1. is this true? 2. does sprint do the same. 3.is there a way i can hack that? cuz i love my phone.

Is this possible??? I was not able to find any drivers or software to support the connection between the Treo 700wx and the Mac. Anybody know if this is possible or can maybe steer me in the right direction to find and answer. Thanks.

Sierra 595usb oberability with windows 2000

(also in the sprint forum)

I am trying to get my sierra a595 usb modem to work with my windows 2000 laptop. I know the card is active as I have used it with my desktop which runs xp.

Basically I keep getting a code 31 error in COM5 connection. That is the only conflict in the device drivers that I can see.

Do any of you know a workaround to get this card working? I was on the phone with tech support for over 2 hours and I am supposed to be getting a follow up call today.

Cingular tethering question...

I have a motorola l6 and am trying to tether and use gprs...

It used to work through motorola phone tools, however, I use linux as my main operating system so phone tools are not really an option.

I've found a way to connect my phone and use it as a modem, here are the settings I currently have..

username: ISP@CINGULARGPRS.COM
password: CINGULAR1
DNS: Automatic

The only question is, the program I use needs to dial a number to cause the phone to connect to GPRS... I've seen several diffrent numbers that the program can dial based on google...however none of them seem to work, the two I have tried are:

*99#
*99***1#

I talked to motorola tech support yesterday and they gave me what I believe to be a BS answer, they told me...

Jump Music from alltel?

My girlfriend bought the wafer and is keeping it despite the intermitant echoing problem. i've read that the mp3s are separate on the fone and cannot be used for ringtones, but she wants the data pack anyway. alltel sells this "jump music" package deal that consists of software, cable, chip, and stereo headfones.

http://www.alltel.com/axcess/jumpmusic_accessory.html »

you can download the software for free, but it's just a music organization program. as far as i can tell you CANNOT edit songs to make your own ringtones. i suggest if you have the razr or krazr stick with moto fone tools and save your $70 you would spend on "jump music."

wafer is just not living up to the hype...

Is Sierra 875 a good choice for Cingular Laptop Connect

I am switching plans from one employer to another and have the opportunity to get a new card. I currently have the Cingular (Globetrotter?)Option GT Max 3.6 with the flip up antenna. It works OK - great actually in DFW 3G areas, but is terribly slow in the outlying areas of west Texas like Brownwood and Big Spring. I was hoping for something with a better antenna might help out in those places? Cingular only offers 4 choices of cards and the 875 is supposed to be their latest and only one compatable for Vista (which i have no immediate plans to use Vista but might on my next laptop upgrade)

Is the 875 a good choice, and any advice about external antennas for it that might help out in the boondocks? I think I can keep my current card and j...

Faster 3g When????

Anybody have a clue as to when we might see faster speeds from cingular's HSPDA network.

I have heard that it is possible already but that they are holding it back till there are more devices to use it. But that just does not make much sense to me. I would think they should be pushing it if they have it.

Will it work?

Will the 8125's wifi work even if I don't have an account with Cingular or a SIM card? I bought it from someone who upgraded to the 8525 and I really only want it for the PDA function and wifi.

Bluetooth File Transfer Profile Support

I just recently got the LG Chocolate in Black(Verizon is my carrier) and would like some of the ringers my friends have and they're all able to Bluetooth them to each other.

I'm aware that there are different Bluetooth profiles for different things but I was wondering if there was a way to download Bluetooth profiles that support file transfer and load them onto my Chocolate so that I can transfer files/ringers to my phone via Bluetooth?

The only idea I could come up with that might remotely work would be to have the cable from FutureDial to connect to my computer and use BitPim to try and add the extra Bluetooth profiles. Does anyone know if this would work?

Mini SD wifi cards

According to product specs these work with widnows mobile smartphones. Has any ever attempted to use one of these with a Windows Mobile 5.0 Smartphone edition phone? I just curious as to how they work with the phone as I haven't noticed any options when it comes to choice of internet access options. Any feed back would be great!
Thanks
