Phone Repair Mixup

So 8 weeks ago, a customer came in to send in an LG 4750 in for repair. Today, they came in bitching about how long it took to get their phone back. (LG sent their phone to the wrong store, and it took longer to get back to our store.. this is supposedly MY fault) I can understand only one point of their arguement: they have a speedtalk line (which is $10 more for USCC than a normal local line) and weren't able to use it during the 2 months their phone was out because the loaner phone we gave them was a Kyocera Phantom (crap, I know, but it's a loaner phone). The rest of their hour long rant included being compensated for their time, (which in reality, we are taking the time to service them and complementary giving them a loaner phone, w...

Question for retail.

Do you let people charge thier phones at your store?

If so, why?

If not, what are some of the reasons you tell customers?

mutherfu@*($*()@$~!!

Since Monday I've sold a car charger (woohoo!)..

Sat here all day yesterday by myself and had 10 people walk in the door (half looking for Cingular, Nextel, Verizon, Suncom... etc [I work for Alltel], the other half wanting to add prepaid minutes and don't want a postpaid plan even though their paying .35 a minute 🤨 ).

Walk in today, other guy is setting up two post plans. I take the next "customer".. turns out to be the exterminator doing a check-up. Other guy takes the next customer.. prepaid activation!! Oh and did an upgrade before I even got here...... ☹️

Been this fu@1#% way all week. I get someone locked out of their Cricket phone, and the next one to walk in is looking to activate!!!

I'm not usually a jealos person ...

GIVE ME A SIMS CARD

this bugs me. it's usually some idiot who thinks you can just get a sim, put prepaid airtime on it, and have a phone number and everything. the conversation usually goes...

C: I need a sims card.

Me: is there something wrong with the sim you have now?

C: NO, i just need a sims card! and i'm in a hurry, so just give it to me!

Me: do you have service with us?

C: no, that's why i need the sims!

me: well, just getting a sim won't do you any good...

C: $#&%^@#$^#@% why can't you just give it to me?!?!

Me: BECAUSE, IF I DON'T ACTIVATE THE SIM, AND SET UP A PHONE NUMBER, YOU'LL HAVE GIVEN ME 25 BUCKS FOR NOTHING.

C😲h... well, can we do that?

if they're in SUCH an effing hurry, they should just STFU and let me do my D...

Episode 3 of The Adventures of Bob, the Typical Cingular Customer
by repCB Jul 30, 2005, 2:43 PM

It's a hot yet beautiful summer day outside, and Bob is driving down the street with nowhere to go and nothing better to do. What better time to call Cingular to have his text messaging fixed...

Fifteen minutes into the conversation...

Bob: No, I'm on it right now! Can't you just press a button and fix it while I'm on the phone?

Rep: Sir, I'm trying to explain, we need to check the settings in the phone. This type of issue is usually caused by an incorrect message center number programmed into the phone. If I could have you check that numbe--

Bob: I don't have time for this technical mumbo-jumbo. Do you know h...

hurry up

I just had two twentysomething guys come into the store. One needed to ask me questions about items on his bill while the other one sat at the chair at the back of the desk. I glanced over to the customers buddy during a load screen and he looks frazzeled...pale and panicked to be exact. All the sudden he stands up and yells to his friend sitting next to him "hurry up man these fuc... shroomz are starting to kick in!!!!!! He then proceeds to go out side and chase leaves around the parking lot...I guess they where good

But thats not fair... Its not my fault my phone got stolen!

So it must be my fault, that although i didn't sell you your new phone 3 months ago at a full discount, you didn't get insurance.

And whose fault is it exactly that your phone got stolen? Perhaps its your carrier's fault, since that is who you seek to punish with your rants about being a "good customer" and wanting a free replacement...

And thanks for being such a great customer, and paying two out of your only three bills on time...

Racist mannequins?

Not exactly PHONE related, but it's near the place I sell phones 🙂 The Demo store right across from our kiosk here is kinda funny. It is known around here as "The black people clothes store". DISCLAIMER: I AM NOT BEING RACIST BY SAYING THAT. I AM SIMPLY STATING THAT IS ITS REPUTATION!!! All the posters in the store are of black women dressed in tube tops and sphagetti strap shirts, except for one picture of a hispanic man in jeans and a white T-shirt (and there are no regular white T-shirts for sale in the store).
So... I did notice one thing about it... It has white mannequins and black ones. They are all female, but the black ones have distinctly smaller breasts and their butts are HUGE! Lol the mannequins have booties. I just find tha...

ITS AMAZING

I'm almost speechless at what just occurred a customer walks in with his phone in a plastic bag. Tells me a story about how he had jumped in a pool with it in his pocket I explained the insurance to him and he didn't ague. He just took the number for lock line and said thanks a polite customer whats next. Is it possible that a pile of money will come falling out of the sky and land in my lap?

Bob tells a bed time story

It's not the greatest, as I'm dog tired, but I'll give it a shot...

One night, Bob lays his children down for bed. It's 2am, and the kids have been tearing up the house since they got home early from school. They were "sick" and had to leave school to come home and run around screaming. Bob's biggest lament is that they ran in front of the TV while he was watching the game. It's ok though, as he threw beer cans at them until they moved. They wanted a story to help them calm down and go to sleep. So, Bob decided to tell them about the 3 little pigs and the big bad wolf. He began his story:

Once upon a time, there were 3 little pigs. They were all borthers who decided to build houses in a valley. One day, a big bad wolf came along, wi...

Best customer favors

Everybody's had them; you treat a customer really well, you get a gift card, a home-cooked meal, etc. I love that kind of stuff, I get it a fair bit, really, because I set up follow-ups with my customers to re-evaluate their service two months after they set up with me, a lot of times they'll bring me something for "the trouble".

I think my favorite, though, is when they try to set me up with their daughter/granddaughter/niece. Unless they've completely misjudged my age(22 with a babyface) and the girl's still in high school. That's just not cool. ☹️

Hello Shop Talkers!

I just created a user name, so I can finally contribute instead of just reading all of your hysterical stories. Hopefully I can contribute something reasonably entertaining too, in between the relentless freebie seekers and bill-illiterate morons. I've been working for a wireless retail store since October, and in these 9 ridiculous months, I feel like I've seen it all. Here's a particular gem from today:

Customer comes into store...he doesn't speak english. Luckily, he brough his friend/brother/lover (?) in with him to serve as translator, and thank god his english was atleast understandable. He says that he's had service for a year and a half, and he's always paid $55 a month on his bill. He has a bill in hand that says $150 ish. Hmmm....

New Cingular Changes

So what do you guys think about all of the changes in the last week? I dig the new data packages, but when they change Directory assistence to $1.79 and 7-7 to $8.99, there are going to be some angry people. Also, this bull about 50% usage on our network KILLS me where I am. I'm in Lubbock, Texas. No service is GREAT here, but we're one of the tops. Especially in the smaller towns. But now, the smaller towns get screwed because they live 45 minutes outside of town, and we don't own that one. Too bad, so sad. I don't see why a billion dollar industry has to penny pinch.

Does anyone RELIABLE have a special on the VX9800?

Does anyone RELIABLE have a special on the VX9800?

I got totally screwed by LetsTalk.com and after having them jerk me around for 4 days, I cancelled the order today.

I will never try to do business with them again because NO ONE knows what they're doing, it's super hard to get hold of someone, they dont' call you back and much more.

So, does anyone know of a GOOD deal for the VX9800 from a REPUTABLE dealer that will deliver and IF there are rebates, that WILL honor the rebates?

I'm also a bit of a hurry because I wanted to do this while Verizon has a special for international calls and also, I have already ordered a case, a clip/holster, 1GB card, car charger, usb cable with software and bigger battery.

Again, so much for tru...

It's the same

"Pizza Pipeline, we deliver more taste to you door! How can I help you?"

"Yeah, I ordered a delivery Pizza and it's not here yet."

"Alright, what was your name?"

"Smith."

"Hmm Smith you say? Let me see, well I'm not showing any orders for a Smith, what time did you order it?"

"Well I ordered it from Domino's but it's just a pizza, they're all the same, you should be able to tell me when it's going to get here."

"Sorry, we can only track our own pizzas."

"Your customer service sucks, I'm getting Tacos."

"Umb, ok, have a nice day."
