Shoo, creepy mall maintenance guy

I show up to open and this dude is leaning, practically laying, on my counter, reading a brochure. I tell him that I will be happy to help him when we open at ten. He lets me know that he is actually just waiting for the Alltel rep in the next kiosk to show up. Oh, okay, then maybe you want to go grease up their counter instead of standing here breathing heavily and making me nervous!

Why on God's earth do these whacky @aa customers think they are supposed to get new AND free phones every freakin time they think about it!?! This guy and his wife came in wanting to upgrade to an MDA expecting to get it for half price because they've been with the company for 12 frakin months! WTF?!

6700 help from fellow employees

I am an employee and this is about work...sort of.

Anyone know how big of a memory card a 6700 will support? I've got a guy who wants to know and this is the only website I have access to!

Some things that annoy me...a reflection

As you may know, I am a chat consultant, which means that the only contact I have with the customer is through chat. It is for this reason that carefully chosen words are terribly important.

It's also worth noting that I am expected to sell through chat. These insights will help you understand my feelings on some of these matters.

1: Customer sends me statement of fact, then puts a ? at the end. For example:

hello my number is [insert some numbers] and i am eligible for an upgrade?


or

i really like the rasor it is cute and has good things it can do?


2: Customer rambles on, asks 17,000 questions and wastes an hour of my life, then says "Okay thanks. I'm gonna go buy t...

"White boy jus' said dat phones needa be thick!"

I'm a white salesman. (Young too. I'm 20.) And often, I encounter young black men (who I identify with, because I'm not white, I'm just ashy really. I swear I was born white on accident) who want to buy cell phones.

Today, I was feeling a little more edgy than usual, so when some guys came up and started looking at phones - well... I'll just tell you the story.


Three young black men came by my booth and started talking about the RAZR. (go figure, right?) So I chimed in...

"You really want a RAZR man? I mean, when I'm looking for a phone, I want something thick. Somethin' I can hold on to and have some fun with, ya feel me?


They got it. They laughed. I'm now the coolest "white boi" they know.

Because what kind of man...

Ethics Question

If you catch someone in your company, but not in your store, doing something illegal... do you report it? If your boss doesn't seem to care, do you go over their head? If their boss doesn't seem to care, do you take it outside the company?

Weirdest non-cell phone related call/experience while working

I had someone call into customer service wanting help with their math homework. They wanted to know what 8 X 7 and 9 X 8 was. I told em, just to get them off the phone.

What's your story?

Assurion/ Lockline Reps

Have you guys ever heard of a rep "completing a claim" but the customer never getting the phone?

I have a customer who called in on the 20th and did a claim. Now they are saying there has not been a replacement completed.


Any ideas or suggestions on who I can contact?

You Phone Does Not Have Bluetooth

Ok, so apparently this is a problem today because this chucklehead was not the first person to give me this song and dance...

He had a V300 (previous caller had an E635) and wanted to use a 'wireless headset' with it. I could not seem to get through to him that his phone would not support it. He kept insisting that he'd seen lots of people using these 'wireless headsets' but his English was BAD and he wasn't listening.

She was worse, kept insisting that I make her phone support it, that the must be some way to turn that feature on, that I could access her account and give her access to the Bluetooth Feature... she went so far as to insist that all phones have it, it's just us evil companies that disable it unless the customer pays fo...

haven't seen this one yet....and when will they learn

A lady comes in with a phone she got from the internet. She wants it activated. If they are nice enough about it, I'll usually try to help them. If they're mean, I'll make them call the internet division back to do it. Anyhow, I go to put the phone together and I can't find the battery. I ask her about it and she informs me that she was trying to open it and thinks she might have damaged it. I ask to see it. She pulls out paper bag and inside sits a mangled battery. She peeled off the label and tried to peel the metal case off. Fortunately, the battery is smarter than the woman and she didn't actually get it apart, however, she mangled the crap out of it. She also didn't have the battery door. When I explained that she would have ...

wow this cust sa the info i got on this web site is wrong!

Nokia 6682 compared to the HTC 2125

cust had nokia 6682 and he said the replacement for the phone that we were suppose to send the display is smaller
I looked up on here the display for the HTC 2125 is bigger than the Nokia 6682!
Right 🤨
He said my info was incorrect.
I didn't have to hear him very much longer because his phone went dead and cut off

Why does every customer...

Do one of two things? It's always either "What's your cheapest plan and where's your free phone?" or "Can you show me that new Blackjack phone?"

Please note that the Blackjack people never want to actually buy one. They just want to look at it. I hate people.

Whatever you say, crazy lady

We have a regular who has plagued us with her craziness since the day I activated her. She is in here every couple of weeks buying a new phone at retail price because she keeps losing hers (the truth is, she looks like a crackhead and I'm guessing it gets stolen or sold out from under her). The thing is, she has insurance. I point this out EVERY TIME, and every time she tells me that she can't wait two days for a phone, and she will just pay full price. She always tries to pay with checks and they always get declined, which gets her irate with US for some reason. At one point I had to tell her that it is not OUR fault if she has insufficient funds in her bank account. I get back from lunch today and she rips into me saying that I never told ...
