Rudamentary Commission Fraud

If you knew basic use of our POS system, and how returns work, you wouldn't do this. But apparently the company I work for hires arse-holes who don't know their own arse from their head.

Observe...

A whole store of representatives in a state up north of me decides that they are going to take the ESNs of phones that have been returned to our wireless company's warehouse and ACTIVATE them as "customer owned equipment" on their own family's personal accounts. The plan is the unlimited everything for everyone. And, it looks like a regular customer; not like when our dealer lines are being checked out in POS. Customer owned equipment makes the most GP when activated on a plan that includes unlimited everything. The way these guys did...

OMG I owe you money

You know it's crazy how customers call in like they're really surprised to know they owe money. I mean I really think if you owe someone money no matter who it is; Your mother, farther, or IRS, and most definitely if you owe a phone company you know. So why is it that our special customers call in to set up service when they know they owe us. Is it that they think we've forgotten? Crazy people crazy world!

disclaimer: scam artist

"Hi! My name is *****, I work for *** Wireless.

I rape you of your hard earned money by selling you the phone you want with an awesome protection plan that covers your phone at a low cost.

I go over all of your paper work so you understand how exactly I am scamming you, I underline everything vital and show you how much of that hard earned money you are putting out for your brand new device."

....This should be the disclaimer that every employee has to say to every numb skulled customer with selective hearing and thinking capacity that walks in the door; so that way it takes the words right out of their mouth and they don't have the satisfaction to try and slander your reputation.

Crazy Customer stories

Just had this call. I almost died.

Me- Thank you for calling Sprint Premier, etc. Number please?
C- blah blah blah.
Me- Did you recieve a letter from us recently?
C- Yeah, they was tellin' me to set up a pincode or sum such.
Me- (That letter went out a year ago). Well alright, let's get that set up for you.

Set up pincode, and then ask about security question. Customer chooses the first pets name question.

Me- And the answer to your question? (Typing notes)
C- Yeah, had me a cat one time. Name was Morris.
Me- Oh really? (Not paying attention at all. Typing continues.)
C- Not sure what happened to it really. Think it got smooshed by a cow or sumthin'.
Me- (Typing stops abruptly) Uhhhhhhhhhh. Like it fell over on the ...

Dear Call Center People

Have you ever solicited something other than phones over the phone? Have you ever offered any "special" services? Would you do this to a mean custy? or a dirty one? I would, just to see if they really record it. And if I was the guy listening to the recordings... I would laugh so hard, tell you to keep it up and post the recording on Youtube.

translation?

what is it about "may i have the first and last name on your account?" that prompts people to tell me exactly what happened to their phone, why they need a replacement ASAP, and what they ate for breakfast?

I just wanted to say Thanks....

... To all the customers out there. Thanks for being so ignorant, not knowing that by not paying your bills will intrupt your services. For Yelling and screaming that there is no way possible you could have gone over your minutes. Thanks to all the parents who think their 13 year old son would never download Girls after dark screensavers and When good girls go bad Ringtones. Also thanks to all the Husbands out there subscribing to Dating servises and your wife finds out cause there's a 400$ charge on your bill cause you were charged $0.99 a message. Its beacause of you, at the end of the day, when i go home and drink because of how depressing it is, it makes it that much more enjoyable. ๐Ÿ˜

To the reps who don't bother to note the account....

please stop, and note SOMETHING. i am sick of customers telling me what they were told, and when i check the notes, nothing is there, except the ID # of the rep who opened the account b4 me. then i have to tell the customer that becuase nothing in the notes support their claim, i cannot do it....i understnad that your handle time is important, but it doesnt take long to type one sentence.

Offsetting Outsourcing

Some people say that soon all call center jobs will be outsourced overseas.

This would be like business suicide in my opinion. I have seen accounts so FUBAR from outsourced reps monkeying around that it takes hours to fix them, often resulting in having to call a customer back and lots of lost man-hours (and pub time).

For instance, the other day I had to spend about 2 hours on an account a previous rep ruined (judging from their call center ID they were in the Philippines).

The customer calls in: "Where my free internets?"
Me: "You were offered free a data feature, Ma'am?"
Customer: "YOUKNOWTHEYSETMEUPLASTMONTHFORFREE MYSPACENOWMYPHONEWONTWORK!![sic]"
Me: "I see... (No free data service promotions going on currently) allo...

It's to early for this

Okay i'm on the phone with this lady, she says she is calling to set up a new line. I ask is she a new customer or exsiting. She says "i
used to be". So i ask "well what happened". So she let's me know that she owe's us money about $400 and we turned her phones off without warning. Of course i'm thinking to myself yeah right who does that? I ask our dear customer did she have a contract or month to month she says she doesn't know.(HOW) So now I have to do extra work. I have to call to customer care and find out what type of account she was on. I call to find that she had a contract, and it was cancelled for none payment. I let her know she could set up a month 2 month, she says she don't have the money.
