Destination Q
Has anybody been to Destination Q on Michigan Avenue in Chicago? Not quite as cool as the Nokia store just down the street, none the less, a great place to get a hands on experience with the Q.
Nokia Store N. Michigan Avenue.
Has anybody else been to Nokia's first retail location in the US? I'll be putting some video of it onto google video and Youtube when I get a chance and I'll post a link on here. The Nokia store has a very high tech look and setup, and many of the high end Nokia phones unavailable by US carriers. Destination Q, Motorola's sad attempt at a retail location is right down the street and only carries the Motorola Q. ...
Re: Its time for a "smarter" motorola phone- V3i
prob not that much since they will have to compete with the v3c now, im guessing 199-249
Re: RAZR problems to watch for.
OLED, OEL, same difference Organic light emmitting diodes vs. Organic Electro Luminescence, I think that OEL fits the name better just because its not individual diodes but an entire surface under the keypad. It is a technology developed from certain oceanic protists that are able to emit light when an electrical field is present.
Re: how do u
it charges from the USB port, you can even charge your RAZR from your computer, a handy feature if you have a laptop and plug everything in at night to charge.
Re: RAZR problems to watch for.
I have the GSM version, and mine does the same thing, it is more than likely do to the OEL backlight rather than using LEDs Moto decided to use OEL because it is more efficient. The chemicals used in this type of lighting have to be agitated by rapidly changing the charge applied to them, this is why you hear this queal when the keypad light is on and it goes away when it goes off. All of the ...

Yeah.... and it's bugging me a bit that so many posters are saying that Motorola shouldn't have changed the interface - it's a whole Verizon thing and it's going to happen with any Verizon phone you pick up nowadays. It's horrible.... who thinks that RED is a universal color?
^Who thinks red is a universal cover you ask? Well the former Soviet Union, China and VERIZON, need I say more?
Re: What bluetooth headsets do you guys use...
i used a jabra bt 250 which worked great, it fit very well too, but I lost all of the ear jels exept for one, which didnt fit my ear, so I have it to my friend. im considering one of the sony ericssons for my next headset though
This has got to be the coolest GSM LG phone I have ever seen.
Usually LG reserves technology this cool for CDMA only, This is the first time I have even considered buying a GSM LG phone, SWEET!

This is more than I care to spend on a phone cover, but there are other auctions similar to this one on ebay, where you can get new face plates and housings for your v3.
Re: Analog for RAZR?
No analog will not be included on the CDMA RAZR for verizon, only digital, get the 710 while you still can because they are trying to replace these with the e815, the only GSM handsets that have analog are the GAIT handsets, and cingular is trying to phase these out as well.
Re: Black or silver?
lol, yeah, its noticeable up close but from far away it doesn't look all scratched up. I havn't scratched it up enough to get a new housing for it yet, so this is just a temporary "quick fix"
Re: ringtones
you will still get charged for data, check out this forum, I posted an easy way to do this for free.

Re: Black or silver?
just color, they both scratch easy, but you can cover up scratches on the black one with a sharpie! lol discovered that for myself.
Re: real tones
OK the easiest and the cheapest way that I have found is to buy a bluetooth adapter ($20 on ebay shipping included) this is not only cheaper than the moto software and data cable it is also more convenient to work with,
1. I personally use Adobe Audition to cut down my MP3s to a length of about 20 seconds or less (many other programs will work, but I just prefer this one since I already had it on ...
What happened to the August 29th Rumer?
just wondering if it was true or a hoax.
Re: Bluetooth Earpiece
I have the jabra bt 250, prob the best headset you can find for a decent price.
1. it stays in place better than any other headset Ive used (I have used all the motos, and a plantronics, most of my friends have these)
2. awesome battery life I use mine regularly and all i do is turn it off at night and it lasts at least a week, I charge mine every sunday night to be sure.
3. The volume can ...
Re: Gap on cover of Black RAZR?
yes same on mine too, its probably because its a metal case instead of a fitted plastic, it might have made it harder to fit just perfectly.
Re: Storage capacity of V3
actually 5 meg of flash memory, and you can check your remaining memory capacity by going to any multimedia folder, ex. photos, ringtones, videos and hit the top center menu key, scroll up or down until you see "View Free Space" this will show you how much memory that you have, how much you have used and how much you have free.
Re: real tones
uh, like most motorola phones since the v400 this phone has full MP3 capability, you can even trasfer your own MP3 ringtones from your computer to your phone over Bluetooth, I have not paid for a singe ringtone since I have had the V3, well actually since I have had the 6620 which was my previous phone.
Re: Strange Frequency Noise in Razr Flip
yeah they all do this when the keypad backlight is on, I tried to take mine back and exchange it for another one but the girl said that it was completely normal and that they all do it, your ear has to be up next to the keypad and everything else around you has to be almost completely silent to even hear it.
Re: Is this phone easy for txt msging?
yeah and even though the actual keys aren't raised, the blue backlight areas that outline the keys are raised allowing you to feel the different buttons, and just another short story that might reinforce your decision, My friend has a v710 on Alltel and she just could not shut up about how hard it must be to text on a RAZR, so I let her try it one day and to her surprise it was actually easier than the ...
Re: Motorola V551 bluetooth messaging
I know that you can do this on nokia and SE phones but im not sure about MOTO phones, I just got a V3 but I havent been able to get this to work yet, I think that there is a JAVA program that allows you to do this but I haven't tested this yet, BT is a bit different on motos though that I have noticed, because you can't remain discoverable at all times only for a 60 ...
Re: Only 5MB of memory????
it has an expandable memory slot thats what gives with that.
Re: Is this phone easy for txt msging?
I text a lot too, and I was innitially woried about doing it on the RAZR, but there are actually rubber separators between the keys, the lines between the keys are actually raised higher than the keypad and is really easy to text on. I would recomend it! itap is like t9 only better I couldn't imagine using normal texting because it takes too long, itap is also adaptive too and predicts long words and email addresses that are ...
Re: New CDMA Razr
OMG I don't even consider a phone if it doesn't have bluetooth, I figured that it would just have the restricted BT like all of the other Verizon phones, I use OBEX all the time so I couldn't even imagine having a phone without that.
Re: bluetoth question
make sure his phone is set to discoverable, the bad thing about the motorola bt though is that it can only be discoverable for 60 seconds, once you are paired though it doesn't matter.
Re: how many people are excited about verizons Razr
the current razr maybe, but it will be on par with the updated GSM RAZR which will be released about the same time as the CDMA one, also the v3x is due out some time then as well, so yes the CDMA RAZR will be better than the current GSM RAZR but will actually be about the same as the Updated razr and worse than the V3x. plus The GSM one doesnt have the OBEX profile disabled.
Re: New CDMA Razr
although I will probably get the v3x I really dont consider it a razr based on how thick it is, well I guess its a RAZR compared to current umts phones.
Re: GSM Gone NUTS!!
Cingular only has 1900 mhz in this area for now, that might be why I experienced more interference with my CDMA Nokia on Alltel, my RAZR does have some trouble on the speakers, but it is very subtle unlike my nokias, GSM and CDMA, CDMA caused the most by far though, so it might just be the difference in frequencies.
Re: Gsm Gone crazy!
I dont know much about samsungs but I do know that nokias can definately interfere. I just held my RAZR up to the monitor and made a call to test this issue and there was no interference at all
Re: Gsm Gone crazy!
no problem, btw what phone are you using, I had more trouble with my nokia 6620, than with either one of my motorolas.
Re: GSM Gone NUTS!!
I had that problem with my old CDMA Nokia, it would make my speakers fuzz and my monitor go nuts, but I havent had that problem very much with my gsm phones, maybe the GSM phones you use have a more powerfull radio, or the GSM tower in your area is further away than the CDMA one and it has to use more power when communicating with the tower, there are lots of reasons for this happening.

Re: Cingular trendforce
yeah, you can work a week and buy any of the prizes they have on there at retail price, I already have the Nokia 6620, and a black RAZR, I did get a Bluetooth headset off of there though. its pretty much a site for people who sit in front of their computer all day, and all night just to see if anything has changed.
Re: NO SPEAKERPHONE/EDGE/NO QUADBAND/TRIBAND
like i said I was only joking with you, and anyways, you said name any quadband phone that Verizon carries, not name a quadband CDMA phone, I don't believe that those even exist.
I'll just stick with my Black V3 until the V3x comes out.
Re: RAZR V1 & V2 Design Question
I would rather have Cingular instead of Verizon which is non existant here!
Re: Cingular trendforce
you have to be between the ages of 13 and 22 and have a cingular phone, it can be prepaid or a plan, its basically no big deal, you do contests to earn points and save up for prizes, I have gotten a jabra bt 250 headset, but most of the prizes are crap or too many points to matter, basically there are forums and information that is cingular related, there hasn't been a lot lately, because they're busy ...
