Your phone's firmware is corrupted; the phone must be reflashed
You don't need a new phone, but taking yours into a Sprint store is the only way to get it flashed.
Is the vibrate really a deal-breaker?
I'm just about ready to buy an 815. I felt the weak vibrate in the store, but never tried it on my belt all day.
I'm sorry I didn't answer your question, but I appreciate and input.
Thanks :)
Gradients in wallpapers etc. will appear to have more steps with 65K
The average user will not notice, but cell-phone "enthusiasts" will. This is just another negative to a growing list.
:(
Why did the main display quality drop from the V3's 262K colors to 65K?
I hope that's a misprint. The big beautiful display is one of the phone's pluses. It's got to be a misprint.

Will Verizon install their standard menu system?
Or will they leave the original Motorola menus alone like they did on the E815?

Re: Had phone 2 hours...not happy so far!!!!!!
1. >> How's the reception when not on a call? It's quite what? Quiet?
2. DUN only.
3. Get edjuhkated Wilber! It is 2MP! That's 2,000,000 pixels. VGA is only 300,000 pixels. I know you are just referring to image quality, but you sound just like most people: like you were raised by Squirrels under a trailer.
4. So you want to take photos on a 90 degree angle; you sneaky spy.
5. Yes.
6. Are you scared ...
Qty. 1600 x 1200 photo download options = 1?
Is the only way to transfer a max resolution (1600 x 1200) photo from phone to PC by physically removing the transflash card from the phone? I tried sending a photo through Verizon's service, but the largest resolution supported is 1280 x 960.
I am concerned about taking the Transflash card in and out of the phone every time I want to save a photo to my PC.

Watch out for the volume fluctuation bug on the 8100!
Sounds pretty common!

That's what we get when VZW forces their generic OS on every phone.
Just think of all the other little OS bugs that lurk due to this.

More than 1 month at Best Buy and 1 week at Verizon and there are only 7 User Reviews.
Talk about a slow start! I'm just not ready to pop for this one until more reviews come in.
People just aren't jumping on this one. Is it the price, the swivel or something else?
:(
WTF? Saw it today; no way - that red color is too "fruity" for me!
I cannot whip that "fruity" looking thing out at work and have everyone start to wonder about me. It might be OK for a woman hidden in her purse all the time, but not on my belt.
The features/build/etc. all seemed top-notch though; too bad.
Is this some kind of bizarre marketing approach designed to steer us somehow? Or are they just stupid?
:?
All the phones!? I think you're seeing red.
:o
Re: buy the 9800 or wait for the razr?
I think you need to wait for the VX9800 too; it's not out yet.
Re: CMOS not CCD
Another induhvidual who doesn't know the facts. Don't believe everything you read on these forums; do some research of your own.

You can't judge the camera quality without downloading the pic to a computer.

Beaverton?
I returned for a different phone at 30 days at no cost...
Sometimes you just need to push a little. It all depends on your relationship with your Rep. I actally returned the second phone and am waiting to try the A970. My Rep said I can try the A970 too (I didn't use up my trial period). None of these transactions cost me any $.
Good Luck
Ask your Rep to extend your trial to 30 days. They did it for me - just ask.
Don't assume that rule is set in stone. :)
"the 670 takes better pics.."?!! That's a huge ding; are you sure?
For those of us hoping for a better camera on a phone, this one is it right now. For you to say it takes photos no better than the VGA pics of an A670 means Samsung failed miserably.
Did you download them or are you judging how they look on the phone's display? :o
Re: Thanks
Cool! :)

Re: Should I trade a vx8000 for E815
The VX8000 is now a collector's item. Keep it and get more phones.
Re: external fruity lights
If you keep the phone, then you must be OK with fruity things. I personally am not on the fence about such matters. 8O
Thanks! Great work! VERY helpful!
:)
I had my hopes up. I guess it's time to look for other options...
The MP3 player is hidden and the external buttons useless unless you load MP3s via Bitpim...
Using a data cable and Bitpim, I loaded full-size MP3 files into a certain directory on the VX8000 using Bitpim. If there are no MP3 files loaded and you press the play button on the outside, the VX8000 display would read "No Tunes!". Once the MP3 files are loaded, the buttons on the outside become fully functional and a little MP3 player displays on the outer display. I don't have a VX8100, but I would imagine this ...
Didn't you say goodbye in the first post? Why can't you let go - it's only cellphones guy!

Re: e815 vs. vx8100 ... need help picking phone!!
Step 2 contains a saying that many consider not PC. :o
They have the same pixel dimensions (176x220) but the 8100's screen is smaller.
Can you download photos from the Transflash card to a PC?
8O
It should show any size...
Make sure the image is the same max pixel l x w that the camera takes.
Can you download photos from the phone to your PC with card?
Can you tranfer photos to/from your PC with the card?
8O
Bells and Whistles kiddo
SwimFan85: Can you download/upload photos using the card?
I am waiting for this info; I can't believe no one has posted it yet. You will be the first to provide this info!
Where are the experts to test pc connectivity, Bluetooth and the memory card?!
Do I need to go to HOFO to wait for these answers? I'm not buying this phone until I info from those that are OK with being testers.
This is perpetuating the impression Phonescoop is for non-tech-savy fashion-obsessed cell phone collectors. C'mon guys. Again, I'm not into being the Guinea pig so get to work!
You should search the forum JR; answers to questions 2 & 5 are unknown!
