I hate to burst your "OFFICIAL CONFIRMED RELEASE DATE...." info, but the phone is already out at Best Buy. I played with one yesterday in the Beaverton, Oregon area for an hour. Cool phone, but not worth $499 in my opinion. One of the biggest deal breakers is the outer display: the resolution is horrible, especially compared to the LG VX-8100's crisp outer display. Also from what I could tell, you can't use the outer display for a "monitor" when lining up self portraits like the LG; I guess that's what the dual direction swivel is for though.
Anyway, just my two cents. You may want to change your subject title to "VERIZON WIRELESS STORE OFFICIAL CONFIRMED RELEASE DATE...." as it appears they won't get the phone until October 18th, ...

The title will stand. Official release means that ALL locations have and support the handset and accessories. So - calm down and realize that the information is correct and sound.

Calm down? Um, I guess I didn't realize I was excited to begin with. Whatever. You can live with your "correct" and "sound" "OFFICIAL RELEASE DATE...."
For everyone else, the phone is indeed out now at Best Buy stores across the country. Go check it out and see if it's worth all the hype. My impressions are that it's a good phone, but I don't know if it's as good as it could have been. If they could get the volume bug fixed on the LG VX-8100 (yes, I have the update, but my phone still has volume fluctuation problems), then I would say the LG still beats this phone hands down, even with a 2 megapixel camera. It's kind of awkward, but also kind of cool. You have to actually see and play with one in person to really get a complete i...
