How is voice to text?
I think it probably is amazing for short texts but can you actually dictate to it? and it's accurate??
Poor bluetooth range with plantronics 925 & 855, can you confirm plz
Hi, my 3 bluetooth headsets are a Plantronics 925 and 855 and a Motorola S9...
My Plantronics 925 and 855 have the shortest range ever. Phone cannot be in any of my pockets, not even front shirt pocket, it has static at even like 3 feet line of sight unobstructed! I cannot figure this out but I had same problems with my LG Dare so I figure it is some weird incompatibility between Plantronics and LG?!?!?
btw, i experienced short range ...
GoogleMaps (GPS) and talking on phone same time???
One of my biggest peeves with my env touch is that I can't use vznav and talk on the phone at the same time. does anyone have any info if the same will be true with droid and google maps???
thx!
Re: gps on the q9m?
I guess this means no :(

I have a Q and sync'd to outlook and would love to know this too...
Does it support wireless bluetooth headsets (for music)?
Does it support wireless bluetooth headsets (for music)? It does't appear to but I wanted to make sure, thx
"Integrated music player* and Stereo Headset Support via EMU"
I desperately want the new Bluetooth stereo headset (Moto HT820) but as of now, i don't think it is supported?
I found this on Moto's website in their summary of features for the v3m:
"Integrated music player* and Stereo Headset Support via EMU" ...http://www.motorola.com/motoinfo/product/d etails.jsp?globalObjectId=148
What is EMU? (besides standing for emulation) and why would the M version NOT work with a bt stereo headset? if support is not built into it, is there a way around it?
thx
Re: Q choppy video playback?
Come on guys, are you telling me that the Q is uncapable of playing smooth video? please answer, thx
Re: stereo headset?
Hi, I too would like to know if any bt headsets would work (both actually, mono and stereo)
My 2nd Q would be do custom ringtones play through a BT headset?
TIA
Re: Considering a Q or a V3M, some questions for you guys...
Thx for the replies... I just tested a v3m and yes, the voice recognition seems to be better than the original v3c! I tried my transflash card and could not seem to get music or ringtones through the headset either :( Why would moto or verizon not support music through a mono or stereo headset?
Hmmm, Q might be the ticket for me as i really want music and ringtones through my BT headset! i just wish the video wasn't ...
Q choppy video playback?
I've tried a number of videos, some 640x480, some 320x240, all wmv's, all out of sync and choppy during playback... is this the norm or am I doing something wrong!?
Is there a certain video format, resolution, bit rate or is the Q simply not capable of playing back most videos smoothly?
thx!
Considering a Q or a V3M, some questions for you guys...
Looking for video and Mp3 capabilities, considering a Q or a V3M, some questions for you guys...
1)The Q allows your custom ringtones to be heard through the bt headset (my 815 does not) does the V3m?
2)What is the largest micoSD card support for the V3m? - 2gbs I think? -
3)V3m: Can you hear music through a single ear BT headset? and what about a steroe BT headset?
4)V3m: Does the voice recognition software ALWAYS ask 'which number' even if ...
Re: Q or V3M - I am Confused
"q = stereo bluetooth. almost got it + the headset for 2x the cost with my emp discount.
nuff said"
Does that mean the v3m does NOT support stereo BT headsets? Can the v3m have music through any single ear BT headset? (my 815 does not play through my BT headset)
Re: E 815 Battery is HORRIBLE
OK, here is MY theory... it's the bluetooth that is causing the trememedous drain... how many of you that are complaining use bluetooth? my theory is even when the bt isn't being used, it drains the battery at an alarming rate just being in the on position :(
so tell me please, how many complainants have bt on? I use BT fulltime and my battery life has been between 50min-120min talktime, both way shy of the 280min claimed
Re: New Software
Are these features from an official update or the hofo hacked update? thx
Re: Verizon Bluetooth problem solved
Will this solve the phone ringing when paired with a bt headset??? Is there ever going to be a fix for that??? I personally find it completely unnaceptable that if my headset is paired that my phone doesn't ring but my headset does? whateverrrrrr...
Re: v710 will ring with Bluetooth HS820 headset turned on!!
So, what's the fricken deal with this problem? Is a Firmware update going to allow both to ring or do we need to flash our phones with a different model's firmware? How is this gonna get fixed because it's absolutely ridiculous that the hs rings and the phone doesn't >(
Re: Bluetooth Headset Battery
I wish, then it could remember to charge itself when low ;)
But seriously, if you mean can you put it on the charger without fear of the memory effect? yes, 99% of all batteries today have lost the infamous 'memory effect' and is no longer an issue
Re: v710 will ring with Bluetooth HS820 headset turned on!!
Mine has always been set to 'off' and my logitech bt hs rings and the phone doesn't... :(

Does the extended battery have an extended battery door?
Please confirm as I've seen both posted on various forums..

Re: Battery Power
Well it's officially rated at 173 talk-time minutes (2 hours, 53min) and with my bluetooth headset on 24/7 I've gone 2hours, 25 minutes before... If you do straight talk-time, no playing around with the camera or the backlight and stuff, the battery should last 2 and 1/2 hours or so but people don't seem to realize that playing around with the phone open, backlight on etc, wastes tons of battery life which drastically shortens talk-time minutes...
Re: Voice Bug!!!
doesn't do what you said to me, mine says the names by scrolling or jumping via keypress... also, it only reads back the names if you have "key volume" set to 1 or higher
Re: Sending pics from phone to email or vzwpix?
Yes, but not through vzwpix.com... a background image is 176x220 and vzwpix.com downsizes it to 119x150... then when you try to 'fit-the-screen' the phone upsizes it back to 176x220 making it look pixelated and lousy...
Email your pic to yournumber@vzwpix.com and it will send the image un-resized... if i's 176x220 it will look perfect!
Good luck -
Re: Last chance to "sign" letter to Motorola and Verizon requesting v710 firmware enhancements
btw, I would love all those improvements to happen... I'm just being realistic about it and have accepted the v710 for what it is... if they do all those improvements, I'll gladly eat my words :)
Re: Last chance to "sign" letter to Motorola and Verizon requesting v710 firmware enhancements
sound like everyone wants a whole new phone and you people are high if you think they are going to just keep on working on the v710 when the could be working on it's successor... only a few things from that list will make the firmware upgrade IMO, the ringer on bluetooth headset and phone better be one because that is simply lame how it currently works... I'd expect the bluetooth transferring to also be included but all those ...
Re: DAMMIT... HOW DO YOU MAKE YOUR PICS SMALLER AND TO STAY GOOD FOR FIT TO SCREEN????
Nope... if you send them via VZPix, you are screwed :( The VZWPix website converts all 176x220 pics to 120x150 and aboaut 4kb, which is why when you 'shrink-to-fit' it's upsizing, which makes it look awful and pixelated... 176x220 is what is needed for a perfect background image with no stretching or up/down conversion... So, the how do you do it? well, the easiest is to transfer via transflash... but if you don't have one, you can send your ...
Re: SERIOUS BUG!! Battery warning BEEPS even when in vibrate or silent mode!
"Why would you want to hear beep if battery is going to die anyway. Bad thinking Motorola."
umm, to tell you your battery is low and needs recharging... seems simple and very logical to me and without the beep, many people would have dead batteries without their knowlege and possibly miss important phone calls... this is not rocket science and most phones have an audio indicator when the battery is low
Re: SERIOUS BUG!! Battery warning BEEPS even when in vibrate or silent mode!
Well, what's more important?... having a dead battery because you couldn't hear the low battery alarm (if you could turn it off) or having it beep annoyingly so until you put the dang thing on the charger? I say it's worse to have an unknown dead battery but hey, that's just me, your mileage may vary ...but this is not a bug and was seemlingly designed this way by moto...
Re: Headset ringing issue
I hope so! it's really kinda bogus they both don't ring :( Think about this too, I've set up many of my most frequent callers with their own ring tones, so I can identify them by sound rather than having to look at callerID... that is useless since I use my BT headset 24/7 and it rings it's own thing and not the phones custom rings...
I do do the off/on thing on my logitech, it goes like this, ...
Re: Voice Commands for Voicemail?
I think as BT headsets become popular, the need for voice activated menus is imperative... many companies offer voice prompts along with digit prompts; we've all been asked "press or say 1".. so, my opinion is it's definitely coming sooner or later... all we can hope is that many people jump on the BT bandwagon and call and complain that they want voice prompts within voicemail!
Re: phone changes from vibrate to loud when charger plugged in
You have LOUD, SOFT, SILENT, VIBRATE and VIBRATE & RING... I think between the 5 profiles you can work out what you need... your loud profile would simply be your favorite profile (which is vibrate) ... whatever, I am confident you will work it out within the 5 profiles, have fun :)
Re: phone changes from vibrate to loud when charger plugged in
Umm, couldn't you just change your LOUD profile to one that vibrates??? Each profile can be made up anyway you want so just because it says LOUD doesn't mean it couldn't vibrate...
Re: Bluetooth and Voicemail
I hope Verizon implements voice recognition in the future... you know like when you call a business and they say "press or say 1".. this would be sweet! and ultra easy to access all features without ever having the phone near ya!

Re: Phone and Bluetooth headset ringing at the same time?
(the logitech BT Headset) I love it... for me, it's the comfortablity and ease of putting it on... it's simply, to me, the most ingenious way to put it on your ear... sunglasses on, no problem, long hair, no problem... while putting it on, you squeeze down on a little spring-loaded button that opens up the ear claw, then you simply throw it behing your ear and let go, the claw then slightly pinches down for a snug fit ...
Re: i have a way to make phone ring with headset
LOL, i just wrote something similar a few minutes ago: https://www.phonescoop.com/phones/p_forum.php ?fm=m&ff=475&fi=86504
It works but pisses me off that this is how the BT functionality works... I mean, why is it not an option to have both ring???
Re: Phone and Bluetooth headset ringing at the same time?
Well, I'm not sure how you all are doing bluetooth but this is how I see it... My logitech BT Headset has a standby mode but when the 710 and it are paired, it never goes into standby but is always'on'... basically if they are paired, the battery life goes way down on the 710 (as I've read here and howard forums) and the ringer only works through the headset... this is not good for two reasons: 1)It's not ...
