Voice Commands for Voicemail?

Is there anyway to play back your Verizon voicemail messages using voice commands? Do you have to use the keypad?

There's a "Voice Mail" command you can speak to the V710 through your headset, but as far as I can tell once you get connected to your voice mail, the only thing you can do (if you don't want to use the phone's keypad) is leave yourself a message. Am I missing something?

I found a fix for this problem. Under the voice mail number setting in the phone make sure to change it to the following: *86pp%%%%

The % being your voicemail password and the p being a pause.

Cool! Is there any way to speak "seven" to delete a message? Do you just have to let your messages become old messages?

I don't think there is any other way to activate features in voicemail than by using the keypad.

I'm posting this in response to the "Voice Commands for Voicemail" thread, which asked if there was any way to check voicemail without using the keypad (only using voice-dialing) or the bluetooth headset.

What I did was to make my #1 speed dial as follows:

*86p(password)#11p7p*
p=pause

This way , whether on my handset or headset, the phone dial's voicemail via voice-command, automatically enters the password and pound key - and because I have "11" after the # key- it automatically begins playing the first message (this will only work if you have a NEW message - otherwise you only hit a single "1" to play all messages. But chances are that you will have new voicemail if you are taking the time to call in for your messages). Ther...

I think a "voice dial" indicator on a phone book entry would be great for this. You would have this option selected for your voice mail phone book entry, and the movie theatre phone book entry, but not selected for your mom and your wife's entries. When you call a phone book entry with this flag on, the V710 will be listening to your voice and translating it to digital dials. All other phone numbers you call, the V710 will stay out of the way while you tell your wife she has a perfect 36 24 36 figure.

How do you insert the pause? Do you need a single or double pause? This is great information! Thanks! 🤣

While entering the number hit the menu key. I use a "wait" vice a pause. Pause pauses for a certain time, wait waits for the call to connect.

Rocket_Man - I believe your post is incorrect.
See page 56 of your manual... both "pause" and "wait" wait for the call to connect before sending proceeding.

The difference is that "wait" prompts the user too- which is exactly what the original poster of this thread is trying to avoid... he/she wants to access voicemail w/o pressing any keys.

I apologize. I am not in front of my phone right now (secure building). I use whichever one does not require you to hit a key. Sorry for any confusion I may have caused. 🙄

Menu - Messaging - Message Settings - Voicemail No. - Menu - Insert Pause (after the *86 that's already programmed into your phone) - Password - #. It works like a charm!

I just use one "w" instead of "pp". It 'w'aits until you connect to dial the password. This may be quicker.

I think as BT headsets become popular, the need for voice activated menus is imperative... many companies offer voice prompts along with digit prompts; we've all been asked "press or say 1".. so, my opinion is it's definitely coming sooner or later... all we can hope is that many people jump on the BT bandwagon and call and complain that they want voice prompts within voicemail!
