phone changes from vibrate to loud when charger plugged in

I just noticed last night that when I plug the charger into my phone it changes from the vibrate mode that I have it on 100% of the time to 'loud' mode.
This is a pain to change it back to vibrate everytime I go to charge my phone. And God forbid I forget one time, I'll get a blasting loud phonecall at 1am Im sure.

Has anyone else noticed their phone going into 'loud' mode after plugging in the charger? is there a way to prevent this?

I searched and could not find this mentioned in the forums before, if it was mentioned, please tell me where.

Thanks,
Michael

that happens with all moto phones when u plug them in. theres no sure way i dont think to change it, however depending on the seeting its on when u plug it in, it may not change, like from soft it will stay at soft. hope that helps.

are you serious? Thats quite annoying. I was hoping someone was going to tell me a way to change this problem. I dont consider it a feature...I consider it a problem...I dont want my phone to blast ringtones while im sleeping...I dont mind it doing its weak vibrate...that wont wake me up...its too weak.
Thanks for the info though...
I am slightly disappointed with the fact that everyday for the next year at least i'll have to change my phones ring settings everytime I charge it...that just bugs.

Try turning the phone off while charging it then you don't have to worry about it waking you. 🙄

Umm, couldn't you just change your LOUD profile to one that vibrates??? Each profile can be made up anyway you want so just because it says LOUD doesn't mean it couldn't vibrate...

I suppose I can do that...but then in the rare occurance when I really want to use 'loud'...Id have to change the profile settings again.

Seems illogical to me that moto is assuming that when I want to charge that I want to change my ringer settings also....
All I really want to do is charge...
if I wanted to change my ringer settings I would have done that on my own.

You have LOUD, SOFT, SILENT, VIBRATE and VIBRATE & RING... I think between the 5 profiles you can work out what you need... your loud profile would simply be your favorite profile (which is vibrate) ... whatever, I am confident you will work it out within the 5 profiles, have fun 🙂

This is the most ridiculous complaint I've ever heard. The whole point of the phone changing to loud mode when you charge it is so that you will hear a call because it won't be on your person. If you're concerned about being woken up, why have the phone on in the first place while trying to sleep???!!?!?!??!?!?!??!!?? Makes NO sense! This should not be an issue!

Im sorry if you cant realize that everyone has different habits.
But if you need an explaination...it goes something like this...

I keep my phone on when its charging at night for at least three reasons:
1) my phone is my alarm clock that wakes me up in the morning (the great thing about this phone is that it allows you to put the ringer on vibrate while the Alarm can be a loud ringtone...thats a great feature my vx6000 didnt have)

2) If I am awake enough to hear the phone vibrate, I'd like the option to answer the phone (cant do that when its off)

3) If I do miss a call, I like to know who called by looking at the caller ID when I wake up (cant do that if the phone is off either).

I personally think its more rediculous that ...

Actually - I understand your usage habits - but I have to say - I have exactly the opposite need, and actually find this feature very useful.
I have my phone on vibrate 100% of the time. It is always in my pocket, and I wouldn't "hear" it ring - but would "feel" it ring (I also hate being that guy who disrupts a meeting, movie, or even a train ride by having my phone ring - I think all people should have their phone on vibrate ALL the time - but that's a whole different story.

So - back to my point... i have the phone on vibrate all day - but when I get home and want to plug it in... naturally I don't want it on vibrate. I need it to ring out loud- because it's the one time it's not in my pocket - and there is nobody who I'd be botheri...

Yep thats exactly what I did...made the 'loud' like vibrate, and ill make the 'vibrate and ring' like loudness.
Its a simple solution and it works out for me. No more gripes.

Thanks everyone for your help.
