Accessories

A couple of questions. Will the chargers from the vx6100 work with the vx8300? If I get the music essentials kit can I use the cable to transfer pictures and video also?

Does the 8300 use the same size/type charging connection as the 8100? If I switch to the 8300 will I have to get a new car charger, etc?

Thank you.

LG 8300...How are the pre-loaded ringtones?

Hi Everyone,

First post for me, I have the LG 6100 and hope to upgrade to the 8300 in a few days. I've seen my co-worker's 8100 and the stock ringtones are pretty much the same as my 6100. I was wondering from those who have the 8300 if the ringtones are the same or are they different? Thanks to all who have posted their reviews.

Does anyone know if bitpim will work with this phone? And how do you get mp3 ringtones? Thanks for the help.

Upgrade question - "Buy one, get one"

When I look at my account on VZW online, it says I'm eligible for NE2. When I go through the steps to upgrade to the 8300, it looks like it's only going to give me one phone.

On the main phone catalog page, it indicates "buy one get one" for the 8300. Anyone know if they will give me two phones for extending my contract 2 years if I call customer service? I do have two lines on my account.

I've called my local store, and the 8300s are not in yet, so if I don't want to wait I have to order online or via CS.

Thanks.

VX 8100 or VX 8300?

Ok, I am due for a new phone. Been using my LG VX7000 and it has been great. Really want a speaker phone and Blue Tooth headset. I know the just upgrading to the 8100 would be a step up or should I do the 8300 instead? Waited until but if I wait too long I am afraid the 8100 will be gone. But on the other hand the 8300 will be the newest and best at that time. 😕

Any thoughts people?

Slow UI Software??

Several posts have mentioned that the new flashable UI also slows things down a bit. The half-second delay on the RAZR phone was a deal killer for me. Can anyone who has a VX8300 in their hot little hand tell me how it compares? Slow? Responsive? Better than the RAZR?

Question about silencing ringer

I will probably update to the 8300 from the LG 4500, and am wondering if the external side keys on the 8300 can be used to silence the ringer. My 4500 does two cool things...

You can toggle in and out of manner mode by holding the "down" button for a couple of seconds. And when the phone is ringing the same button can be used to silence the ringer with one push, and send the caller straight to VM with 2 pushes. Without opening the phone. Can the 8300 do this?

Tethering with the 8300?

I currently own the LG 8100 and am nearing the end of my 15 day trial. I love the phone itself and my only incentive to sweitching to the 8300 would be for the navigator feature however I am hooked with the tehtering abilities and wondering if this is included with the 8300 as well. Thanks for any help.

I Find Some Of Your Reviews Comical

Not looking to start an argument and I am not just looking at the reviews for the 8300 (although they are the ones prompting this message). It's nice that this multi-tasking phone can do everything but wash your dishes - people comment about the photos this (and other phones) take(s) - the MP3 player and the large buttons and how thin it is, etc. But to me foremost more than anything else is does this phone (and others that are reviewed) act like a good phone. How is the clarity - the earphone - the speakerphone - the reception - how do people on the other end feel about the voice quality, etc. To me, that is the most important thing about a phone and it seems either reviewers don't mention this at all or it becomes an afterthought after the...

Question???

Can you save sounds that are sent in picture messages and use them as ringtones??? That was what kept me from getting the 8100(that and some of things my friends that have it told me about it) But I have this ringtone that is really really important to me and theres no other way to get it except to send it through a picture message.

Blue Tooth to PDA

I'm trying to get my 8300 to work as a modem thru Blue Tooth for my HP 2215 pda. The instructions I found say to dial #777, user name xxxxxxxxxx@vzw3g.com , password vzw.

The x's are you 10 digit phone #. The phone opens the partnership, but I get a reponse that the username or password are incorrect. What is the correct way to do this?
