A couple of questions. Will the chargers from the vx6100 work with the vx8300? If I get the music essentials kit can I use the cable to transfer pictures and video also?

Well the simple answer to all of your questions is NO. LG changed all of the charge ports again. Verizon actually mandates this change so dont be mad at LG. Every two years they have to change things. Good news though....the new chargers will be backwards compatable. What this will mean is that your NEW chager for your 8300 will be able to be uesd in the 9800 or anything older.

I would think not since the 8300 is thinner than the 8100, but I am not completely sure.

the new charger is very similar to the old one. The new chargers will work on older lg products, but the older lg chargers will not work with new phones! Kinda of cheap i know but that is what i am hearing.

Actually I am curious about this too. From what I've read it appears that the ports on the VX8300 are different from the VX8100, so I'm guessing that at least the chargers are not compatible.
I can't find hardly anything in the way of accessories for this thing. I'm none too keen on paying Verizon $29 for a car charger that I can get for a fraction of the price anywhere else. But I don't quite trust eBay or any of the accessory shops selling this stuff just yet because some of them are lumping in the vx8300 with the 8100 for accessories.
So.. can anyone point me to a good place to buy accessories for this thing? Are ANY accessories (USB cable, etc.) from the vx8100 compatible? Or am I pretty much stuck waiting for awhile..

You can modify 6100/8100 plugs to work by cutting the center key out with a razor blade.
