Help w/Mac compatibility

I am considering this phone, but know that Verizon is seriously in bed with Microsoft and I'm an Apple guy.

I have read that this phone plays only .wmv files and not MP3s or AAC.

If this is true is there a work around for this and other issues I may encounter? Can I save MP3s to a microSD card and have the phone recognize them for example?

Suggestions?

trying to figure some stuff out...

i know the amount of people who know the answer to this question will probably be limited but if someone could please tell me how or if you can transfer music onto the 8300 using a flash card and flash card reader/ writer usb thing, i would greatly appreciate it.

also if anyone knows how to turn off that annoying sound that comes on when you shoot movies i'd love to know that to! i figured it out on the camera but the video doesn't seem to have the same option.

thank you

Yes, there is a VX8600, VX8500, and VX8400

There was some talk and a few FCC photos of the VX8400 and VX8500 .
Now there is a VX8600 showing on the FCC Site.

There's not much on there yet, except that it will be Dual Band (800/1900Mhz), EVDO, Bluetooth, and come with a USB Data Cable

Reminder beep?

I'm still truckin' along with my 6100 and am considering replacing it with the 8300. One of the most troublesome features of the 6100 for me has been the lack of Reminder Tone for missed calls, etc. I can't imagine a phone without it but can someone confirm this feature on the 8300. Thanks

8300 - The good and Bad Thread - No bashers Please ! Don't miss this mini Review !

Let's keep this Thread just about the good and bad points of this phone..

I am going to start this off -

The phone is thin and very nicely made !

The phone has an incredible SPeaker phone !

The phone has the nicest keypad I have ever seen or used!

The phone's Menus are fast unlike Moto CRap !

The side buttons are placed well and dont get hit by accident every second like the Stupid 930!

The battery life so far is very good - More to test !

The Speakers are loud and crystal clear for ringers and speaker phone ! Best I have ever heard !

The outside screen can be customized any way you want.

The inside screen is very customizable as well!

The Camera is very decent and usable!

The Voice dialing is good but no...

8300 features

I currently have the LG 4500, and like the driving mode as it announces the name of the person calling, that way if I don't want to answer the phone, I know right away who it is with out thinking, who's number is that.

A few months ago I was going to go with the lg8100, but found that it didn't have that feature. So I didn't get it, but after much research I found that it did have an announce mode which you could activate via menu selection. Which I found to be okay. But I decided not to get the phone because I was told at the store about the 8300 coming out and was told it would do all the same features as the 8100.

Now, I before getting the 8300, I checked out the manual and see nothing mentioned of that feature. Does anyone kno...

Manner mode??

I'm a little miffed at the 8300 because it doesn't seem to have a real Manner mode like my 6100 did.

Am I missing something, or is it really not there?

So how bad is the reception and loudness???

I have had the 8100 and have loved it. I have had no issues with reception and voice quality. My previous phone was a motorola v400 which I had for 2 years and by the end I had to talk on speakerphone to talk so maybe the 8100 isn't that good? I just want to ask the ones who say the reception is bad is it worse than the 8100 or is the reception and loudness better on the 8300. Thank You! 🙂

Suggestion for transferring pics from computer to trans-flash card

First off, I'd like to say I've had many, many phones and this one is my favorite. When I tried transferring pics to the card and then using as ID, it would say too large. I have a free program on my computer called Picasa and have my photos there. There is a setting under tools where you can resize a picture when you email. So I email photos to myself and they come out smaller and work very well for ID. And Mary424 thank you for all your knowledgeable comments.

Emailed Ringtone Sound Quality...

Ok so I just got my 8300 tonight (placed the order online yesterday, BOY do they work fast!!) I haven't activated yet. Still a little attached to my 8000 because I get to make my own ringtones with it among other things...hopefully cellcables.com comes out with a data cable and software pretty soon... Just wondering if emailing the cut ringtones to urself was the ONLY way u can "make ur own ringtones" as of now? 🙄

MP3 ringtones

Can someone describe the process of getting an mp3 to this phone and setting it as a ringtone? I know how to cut it into the parts I want and stuff, just not how to actually get it on the phone.

Thanks.

After a Week With The 8300 - Is there.............

Anyone who initally gave this a 4 or 5* rating and is now having second thoughts about it? Also, is there anyone debating with themselves on whether they should have given the Samsung 930 either a longer look or an initial look?
