LG 8300 is too small and more, but still a good phone.

I'm upgrading from a awesome V710 and i must say, both screens are smaller than the v710. The sound is nice but seems not as loud as the v710. I love the outside buttons, the front screen equalizer is cool.I also like that you can flip the main screen display sideways, like widescreen. I'm thinking i'm gonna check out the Moto V3m and if it's louder, i'll exchange it. Otherwise, nice phone but not a s sturdy feeling as v710.

SIGNAL STRENGTH?!?!?

MY 8300 arrived yesterday. Sad to report that I am only getting 2-3 bars out of 8 inside my home where my LG 4400 gets 4 out of 5 bars consistently (the Moto e815 I just returned was getting a solid 5/5 all the time)!

I haven't had the phone programmed yet, but isn't the signal strength independent of whether I've had the initial programming done?

Front Screen

Will later versions of software ever make it possible to read text messages on the front screen?

Any thoughts, especially from tech-savy folks, would be appreciated.

Reception Problems????

I - like many people - are on the verge of getting this phone. I was waiting to read the reviews over the first few weeks and then - if positive - I would go for it. For the most part, whether it's been here, Howard Forums or Mobiledia - most reviews have been glowing. Then a few people started complaining about signal strength the past few days. I don't know if these few are unlucky or whether signal strength/reception problems is (or will be) inherent with this phone. So far it's only two or three complaining (and one of those gave the phone a glowing review stating he was so impressed with the clarity of the calls) - so I am just wondering if these few are unlucky or hard to please or is everyone (thus far) having these problems?

TransFlash questions

I'm kind of new to transflash and my 8300 is on the FedEx truck as I sit here typing(upgrading from a VX6000 that served me well). I bought the SanDisk 1gb card and the SanDisk MobileMate card reader and have a few questions.

1. How do I format my card for MP3s and video for the phone?
2. Will I have to do the Menu 0's to enable Mp3s?
3. What video format will the phone read, and whats the best way to convert video files?
4. is there a limit to the length/size of video files on the phone?

Hopefully this will help people in a similar situation as myslef.

Thanks in advance.

In-store availability

If this phone has been released does anyone know why the stores I have either visited or called do not have this phone? Thanks...I is online in my area but I'd rather see the phone in person before I make a purchase.

Many thanks

CAN YOU RECORD CALLS w/NEW VX8300???

Can you record calls with the 8300 like on all the previous LG models? If so, for how long at a time and how many entries? I think with the 8100 you could do 200 entries at 1 minute each. And does it still only record the other side of the convo?

record calls on the VX8300??

Can you still record calls on the VX8300 like you can on all the other LGs? If so, how many entries and for how long? Does it still only record the other side of the conversation and not yours?

Thanks!!

Transferring MP3 files to the 8300

Is it possible to transfer an MP3 file to the 8300 from a PC via bluetooth? I tried it tonight, and could get my PC to "recognize" the phone, but couldn't figure out how to send the mp3 to the phone (I have an IBM laptop with bluetooth using Windows Media Player 10).

Can anyone advise??
Thx
