Upgrade question - "Buy one, get one"

InsuranceMan

When I look at my account on VZW online, it says I'm eligible for NE2. When I go through the steps to upgrade to the 8300, it looks like it's only going to give me one phone.

On the main phone catalog page, it indicates "buy one get one" for the 8300. Anyone know if they will give me two phones for extending my contract 2 years if I call customer service? I do have two lines on my account.

I've called my local store, and the 8300s are not in yet, so if I don't want to wait I have to order online or via CS.

Thanks.

The only way they are going to give you another one free on your other line is if that other line is also available for upgrade, and if it indeed is, you probably have to do it at a store or by calling CS, not sure if you can do that online or not. If that's the case then you'll have to wait for "official" launch.

I bought two of these on Saturday (one using NE2, and one for $49.99) before I realized there was a BOGO offer. When I saw that, I called Customer Service and they said they'd credit me the $50 so that I'd actually end up with two free phones. They said it could take up to 10 business days for the credit to show up on my card. Hope this helps! 🙂

I just upgraded my phones and got two of them. What I had to do is pay for the 2nd phone, and then customer service credited the amount on my account, so I got it right away.

For those of you wondering, the regular BOGO offer is after mail in rebate..

Was fine with me.. half dozen one way, six another.

I have called CS twice. My first line, being qualified for the Merit program, is eligible for an upgrade, but my second line was just added to my account last July, so is not eligible for upgrade until 2007. I asked both times if there were a way to buy the second phone for $50, but was told "no".

This isn't a huge deal, as I don't need the second phone, but now I want to find some way to be able to do it, "just because". Any ideas?

There is no way except to buy it at full-retail. If your not eligible, your not eligible. It is what it is.

I'm a sales rep for VZW, I would DEF tell you get insurance and extended warranty on the phone if you are worried about replacing it if it gets worn or broken... warranty covers mechanical functioning defect and insurance covers EVERYTHING else... don't let people tell you there's things it doesn;t cover, THATS NOT TRUE.... but otherwise, you need two qualifying contracts (new or upgradable) to get a BOGO on any phone... Cust Serv will not credit you for not having an elig. phone or a second line... that's why we offer insurance... and the mail-in rebate, is only on the first phone, the second phone is discounted completely when activated on a plan through the system... if you have any other ?'s you can contact me and I'd be happy to help 🙂...

you could just add another line for 10 bucks a month. The phone is what, 250 full retail? Do that math on that one. By the time the other line you have is elig. the phone would have paid for itself.
